Wavves NOT Sued by Disney, “King of the Beach” Out Today!

The new Wavves record officially drops in stores, aka ‘physical’ copies today. King of the Beach (Fat Possum) is the third record for Nathan Williams and Co. as they head in a new direction. The group is now different and features members of Jay Reatard as the backing band. Williams doesn’t seem as angry/pissed off/crazy. Hopefully we won’t be having any more meltdowns from him.

Williams has recently fooled all of his Twitter followers by saying that mega company Disney was suing him for naming one of the new tracks “Mickey Mouse.”

He tweeted:

“Who would’ve thought I’d get sued for a song called ‘Mickey Mouse’?? You’ll want this first press of this record.”

Well apparently this is not true. He also called Walt Disney a Nazi by the way. This just seems like a really great way to get people to buy your record, doesn’t it?  Hmmm. In any case, this is by far Wavves best work so you should pick up a copy anyway.

Secondhand Sunday: Wavves “No Hope Kids”

The new Wavves album King of the Beach (Fat Possum) comes out this week, but most of us have already listened to this masterpiece already, right? Right. We’re doing a Secondhand Sunday of Wavves proportions this time around with an oldie but goodie, “No Hope Kids.” Ah, this was the period when we all fell in love with the band, and before the epic breakdown(s). This time around we expect things to go smoother. Hopefully.
