Modern Mystery favorite Willodean is back with their latest and greatest musical endeavor, “The Gold.” This year has been quite an experience for the group who have released a series of successful and notable EPs. “The Gold,” is a gorgeously crafted song that brings out the uniqueness in the band. Notably one of the most intriguing bands of the year, their back-to-basics Rock n’ Roll is eclectic and harmonious. We’re excited to hear what the group has up their sleeve for the rest of the year!

Race the Tide Shares “Rip Tide”

Kicking off the weekend, let’s get started with a little Race the Tide.  Just about to wrap up his ‘Sunsets at’ North American tour, he encourages audiences and incorporates communities to share their passions, art, and philosophies in person in a new and exciting way. Each show is completely unique, as RTT has hand chosen acts (not just musical but also artistic and performing) at each destination. You can get a taste of some of Jesse’s previous collaborations here. Airstream, Lomography, Audio Technica, Navitas and Pendleton have all gotten behind the idea behind the tour, as well RTT’s brother, actor Gabriel Macht (USA network’s Suits). The brainchild of  Jesse Macht, he releases the enticing new single entitled ‘Rip Tide‘. The track opens with a gorgeous, almost LCD like synth/piano part, which is quickly overlaid with a War on Drugs guitar part and Ryan Adams-esque vocal line. Give it a listen! It will not disappoint!

Billy Crain Gears Up for New Album

Billy Crain is one of the most intriguing and eclectic artists off our modern times. The singer-songwriter pens classic Rock n’ Roll songs, with a dash of blues on the side. Throughout the years Crain has played with the greats from The Rolling Stones to ZZ Top to most notably, The Allman Brothers. His twangy-style and intriguing vocals make us want to hear more from the artist. And this Fall we will have the pleasure. Gearing up to release his new record, “Broken Things,”later this month, Crain is already on our Year End list for Top Releases. His Southern style blends with the Nashville sound that enlightens and delightens with every listen. Open your ears to one of his acclaimed singles making waves on the charts, “Cold Feet.”

Josh Taerk Reveals the “Stages” EP

Josh Taerk is an artist that has been on our radar for the past few months. His newest release to head into the world “Stages,” is an insightful EP that brings the essence of music to life. Released this past Friday, October 20th, he paves the way for his unique and enticing songwriting and lyricism. Praised by the likes of Bruce Springsteen’s drummer, Max Weinberg, Taerk already had the seal of approval.  Taerk says of the release “I picked the name Stages for this EP because of the different stages of my writing, the different stages of my career, the stages I get to play on night after night, and the many stages of my life so far. All of these different stages have contributed to who I am and have shaped the songs I write.”  With key singles like “Learning to Let Go,” Josh Taerk hits a home run on the new EP. Catch it below!

The Make Pretend Unveil “Sorry I Let You Down”

The Make Pretend unveil their newest video ‘Sorry I Let You Down,” which is a perfect way to head into the end of the year.  The Make Pretend is the “nom de guerre” of  NYC artist Jason Verlaine. Alongside Verlaine’s songwriting and vocals, he plays in close collaboration with Matt Keating and Greg Wieczorek (Norah Jones, Joseph Arthur, Autumn Defense) to produce an infectious set of tunes driven by an indie spirit and a diverse sound that calls to mind influences such as The Smiths, R.E.M., and Lou Reed.

The recently released record, “Fortune Factory,” is an epic collection of songs that bring The Make Pretend to life.
