Kat Pace Gets “Revenge”

katpacenew

Kat Pace is a hometown Philly girl who writes with empathy, earnestness, poetic elegance, and dashes of quirkiness. Her previous release was reminiscent of a post piano-pop decade Sara Bareilles, but in 2017 she’s exploring a whole new sound.

After hitting the studio with nine-time Grammy award-winning producer Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo (Billy Joel, Rolling Stones, Lauryn Hill, Cypress Hill), Kat is embracing a more soulful pop aesthetic. The resulting “Revenge” is a track rooted in R&B that touches on the strength that comes from heartbreak.

lme

Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Ellingsen’s alt-Americana sound has a timeless quality. Combining accomplished guitar playing with clear, heartfelt vocals, Ellingsen’s music is influenced by many uniquely American styles, including rock n’ roll, blues, folk, and country. The sound is refreshingly down-to-earth, with a quality reminiscent of her musical heroes Lucinda Williams and Kathleen Edwards.

A compilation of both old and new original songs, the upcoming Lisa Marie Ellingsen album “Nola to Noho” (slated to be released in May 19, 2017) is a tribute to the circuitous route the songwriter took as a musician.

Among Criminals Share “I Don’t Believe You”

ac
Among Criminals have just released their newest video endeavor for “I Don’t Believe You.”
Among Criminals threads together 1990s alt-rock, modern indie rock, punk rock, and Jamaican dub, ska, and reggae. It’s an adventurous aesthetic that conjures the fearless musicality of the Mars Volta and At The Drive In, Nirvana, and Manchester Orchestra. The band’s recordings are visceral and dynamic, and also subtly layered for a multi-dimensional “headphones experience.” The trio originally formed in 2008, but burned out after a grueling schedule of 250-300 shows a year that tested its sanity, creativity, and commitment.

Polar Waves Release New Single, “Stoner”

polarcover
Polar Waves is the brainchild of frontman Julio Duran. The project was born in his home in Chile during a time when the country was in the middle of a polar vortex. He stayed warm indoors with a bunch of his buddies and a lot of booze, when a bout of wanderlust inspired him to bravely venture to the states and pursue his true calling: music. He soon met famed producer John Keane (R.E.M., Widespread Panic) that would help him craft his sound and share his journey through No One Needs Help Anymore.
