Don Mai releases one of our favorite singles of the Summer, “Won’t Let You Down,” and we are certainly head over heels!

The singer-songwriter brings an out a unique and flavorful sound that has him recalling artists such as Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and the classics such as Tracy Chapman. The new single is equal parts Pop driven with ambitious acoustic guitar elements which intertwine. The song creates a beautiful aura around Don Mai’s vision, as his lyrics take you on a very special journey.

Don shares of the single’s inspiration:

“I was inspired to write “Won’t Let You Down” because I was really into someone, but she had been through some bad relationships and had her walls up. Still to this day I’m not sure if she didn’t like me or if she just didn’t want to be hurt again. I was actually writing another song at the time but it wasn’t going anywhere, but as soon as I started writing this song. Everything pieced together perfectly and we even finished the whole recording in 1 day”

Don’s new single will resonate with many as it brings love and relationships to the table; proving we all have our walls in one way or another. The song brings emotional and sincere elements to the table within the lyricism, which is held up by a stunning bed of instrumentation that drives the song home. Canadian born and raised Mark Martyre is currently sharing his new single “Wait,” which premiered a couple of weeks ago via Aesthetic Magazine.
His prolific songwriting has produced 6 full-length studio albums since 2012: Down, Record (2012), London (2013), Red Letters (2014), Bluebird (2016), Rivers (2017), and Light Years (2019), as well as several live records, and bootlegs. His music has garnered critical acclaim and attention both nationally and internationally, and has earned him “Best Songwriter” and “Album of the Year” nominations. In 2019, Mark also published a collection of his poems, and has also had several poems published in online journals and literary magazines. In 2018, Mark wrote and performed music for theatre, for the play “That Moment When.”
