Jersey City natives The Normal Living (TNL) have just released a new sound with their single How It All Went Down. T he song starts out with a bang, a heavy electric guitar riff immediately grasping the listener’s attention. The beat is met with enchanting vocals and thoughtful lyrics.
Before you get caught up in headbanging along to the beat of the drums, the lyrics hit you like a tidal wave. “There are no reasons why this should ever make sense.” The track tells the heartbreak and grief of a mother losing a daughter to suicide.
“All these empty stares with nothing to say. If they ever really cared would it be this way?”
It is gut wrenching and full of emotion. The song aims to bring awareness to suicide and mental health.
We can’t wait for what’s to come from TNL’s upcoming album, being released in 2020.

HITHA Entices With New Single

7B98CAB9-C45E-4FEA-B6E8-C4B9B33A1AD5.jpeg

Pop songstress, Hitha, is way more than just a smooth voice and a charismatic personality. She is a dedicated role model for the younger generation, and has made it her mission to be an advocate for those who are not given a voice. She does this through music, and inspiring people to love themselves, feel confident, and spread kindness.

Hitha is unlike any other 14 year old you have ever met, considering how she just launched a tour this past August in India, that she named INSPIRE, bringing together more than 2,000 fans. She is expected to continue the tour across major cities, spreading awareness and bringing people together through her music.

“Got Me Liking You” is the latest release from Hitha, combining an upbeat melody and a heart-warming message. Unlike her other tracks, this one is the first that is a light-hearted, feel-good, romantic movie type. And we must say, Hitha nailed it.

After the first chorus, the catchy melody makes listeners get up and dance, and the sweet lyrics are earworms for memorization. Hitha is set to release a number of upcoming singles, “Tell Me Why” and “Chocolate Kisses” to name just a few.

If her next few tracks are anything like “Got Me Liking You”, then we may just have to start looking for flights to see Hitha perform these songs live!

Dylan Perkons Entices With Single + Debut

Screenshot 2019-10-17 at 4.38.36 PM.png

Victoria-based Dylan Perkons’ debut is a collection of richly orchestral songs that tell the story of an experienced songwriter finally stepping out to record under his own name. Perkons has spent his career working on various projects, honing his craft both on the road and in the studio, so while The Healing Day is his first solo outing, it represents a much longer journey. His lead single “Black and Blue” is a heartfelt, soaring indie-folk track that will be lingering in your ears for days to come. The Healing Day is best described as layered. These are earnest, well-crafted songs, brimming with strings, french horn, electric piano and a plethora of synthesizers, creating a distinctive universe for the listener, one they will want to visit over and over again.

Jake Benjamin is a New York musician that is steadily on the rise. With his new video in tow for “Bound to You,” the artist also brings an eclectic video to the table that is visually captivating from start to finish. One of several singles Benjamin has been and will be releasing in the coming months, the new music will lead up to a fuller release, expected in the New Year. We had the chance to catch up with Jake Benjamin for an exclusive interview regarding his latest video release.

Tell us the story of this song, why did you choose to visualize this song specifically?

“Bound to You” was a story that came from a stream of consciousness. The thoughts that raced through my head got so vivid that they became a vision projected on the ceiling and from there I kept on writing and writing and by 3AM, the song and melody had been writing with the composed vocal loops. “Bound to You” is a song dedicated to the ones who never leave your mind and love unconditionally. I wanted to give the listener a glimpse in the composition process using a loop pedal. The video highlights the method of how I build accompaniment with the sounds of my voice and the effects of the loop pedal.
What was the inspiration behind this video(visuals, storyline, etc.)?

Well besides giving listeners a visual on inner mechanics of looping, I think it was important to give the overall light feeling of the song. So, using the natural light inside the lovely home of the sound engineer who worked with me on the video gave the right setting for this song.

What was the process of making this video?

It was a collaborative effort between the videographer, Fernando Martinez, who used multiple cameras in the shot. With the help of producer, Ben Wisch, we were able to use his home studio give an honest live performance of “Bound to You.”

Screenshot 2019-10-16 at 6.54.46 PM.png

Philadelphia is currently one of our favorite places for new music, and one band that is certainly on our radar is Dominy….and they’ll be on yours too.

Dominy is a Philadelphia based indie band that crafts hook-laced, irreverent rock and roll that draws a wide array of influences that include surf, classic country, and Americana. Formed in 2017 by brothers John and Alex Dominy, along with Michael Youngkin and Zak Iannitelli, Dominy released their debut album, ‘Wet Leather’ in January 2017, as well as a follow up EP that July titled ‘Dry Pleather’.

During their time playing in Philadelphia as well as touring, Dominy has garnered a reputation for high energy shows suffused with sardonic humor. The band released their second full length album, ‘Drugstore Cowboy’, in June of 2019th, cementing Dominy’s reputation as a contender in the Philadelphia music scene.
