The Tall Tall Trees Announce November 20th Fundraiser in NYC
The Tall Tall Trees will be celebrating their Kickstarter Fundraiser at The Mercury Lounge on November 20th starting at 8 PM. Harlem folk rocker’s goal is to raise $12,000 to record their sophmore release. The band features Mike Savino on vocals and banjo, Kyle Sanna on guitar, Benjamin Campbell on bass and Mathias Kunzli but this is not your traditional folk group. Through the use of effects pedals on banjo and amplification they have managed to achieve a fresh sound that incorporates a mix of American Folk and rock elements with Brazilian and African music. The Tall Tall Trees musical chemistry and energetic live performances allow them to re-invent their songs on a nightly basis. They have spent years collaborating with such diverse acts as Moby, Yo Yo Ma and Vieux Farka Toure and can be compared to fellow NY acts such as Vampire Weekend and Dirty Projectors. Vampire Weekend On Ellen This Tuesday
Vampire Weekend, the indie rock entrepreneurs, are taking another stride on their victory lap post-Contra. The album, their second out on XL Recordings, hit #1 on the Bilboard Charts it’s opening weekend and Vampire Weekend began taking over late night television. Hitting up Colbert and pretty much every network talk show known to man, even one that no longer exists (Conan still lives), Vampire Weekend don’t have a lot of places left to go. Thankfully, they have been invited to play on Ellen on September 28, and have chosen to play their new single, “Holiday.” A secret song, of sorts, will also be played and not aired, but you can watch it over HERE. And no, Lil’ P-Nut is not expected to guest, but you never know.

Coachella Announces Schedule….Finally!
With Coachella starting TOMORROW, the festival finally decided to release the schedule of who is playing when and where. Nothing like leaving to to the last minute, eh?
The three day fest is set to take place from this Friday, April 16th through Sunday, April 18th. Hold onto your hats because the lineup and schedule is about to blow them off. You’ll be able to catch everyone from Pavement to Vampire Weekend to MGMT to Spoon without them overlapping. Well played Coachella, well played indeed.

Vampire Weekend to Play NYC in September!
This afternoon it was just announced that indie’s wiz kids, Vampire Weekend, are slated to play a show at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The band will take to the stage at this very special performance on September 15th. The guys have been gaining much acclaim with their newest release Contra and are getting bigger by the second. If you missed Vampire Weekend during their three nights of shows last month, be sure to snag your tickets this time around.
The presale for Amercian Express cardholders starts tomorrow, Wednesday, at noon. General sale for the show starts Friday at noon. The tickets run at $39.50, but for anyone who has ever seen Vampire Weekend live knows you’ll get every penny’s worth.
