AOTEAROA PORTRAIT 1

AOTEAROA is back in action with a fresh new EP and single in tow. Titled Luck West of Money, their latest record dropped September 26 to the ears of eager fans. The long-awaited 5 track EP  howcases a new batch of groove-oriented pieces founded on irresistible rhythms and unforgettable melodies. The first single, “Pocketful of Scoundrel” intertwines gnarled guitars and gunmetal vocals with six-foot deep harmonies to create a piece that sets the tone for the rest of this compellingly original album.

Multi-instrumentalists Jake Lerman and Ilan Gitter have spent a far greater portion of the past three years living on the road, playing to venues all around the country. Traveling the United States as modern American nomads, the band has earned the praises of fans and dance-floor goers alike. Aotearoa (pronounced  A-O-TAY-UH-ROW-UH ) prove to be a brilliant combination straight from the start. This Thursday in New York City, the group will also kick off an extensive tour of the United States starting at Goodbye Blue Monday. Portland born NTNT is back in full force and ready to close out the summer. The stellar duo of Dustin Brown and Ryan Berry, have just premiered a new track titled “The Attitude” on Baeble Music. “The Attitude,” is from their upcoming sophomore release, And Then the Moon, due out later this fall. The phenomenal track is laced with electro-punches, dreamy melodies, and prominent harmonies, which will captivate your ears right from the start. The sonically alluring tones mix brilliantly with Brown’s slick and captivating vocals.

NTNT has recently won the Deli Magazine Portland’s Artist of the Month, and have just opened for Gentlemen Hall on several dates. The new album is a follow up to their debut 2012 release,I’ll Find You in the Colors.

Front man Dustin Brown (Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Programming, Percussion) says of the track:

I wanted something that sounded wet and tropical but sort of sickening at the same time. I’m not sure that’s the way it’s interpreted by others but I feel that from the dissonance in the guitar bends.  There was a golden recording moment some where at around 10 or 11 am when I finished the chorus that night and went out onto my patio to smoke a cigarette in my robe and just cranked the speakers super loud. I was exhausted and it felt good to hear the bass riff reverberating off the walls of all the different apartment buildings in my complex. The sun was reflecting off the apartment pool and it was super glittery and it sort of felt like the songs roots were captured right there for a second.NTNT will be releasing their sophomore effort, And Then the Moon Fall 2013.

Adventure Galley Shares the Vibrant Video for “Weekend Lovers”

Taking a page out of the electro-indie-pop book of groups like The Killers, Adventure Galley boldly goes above and beyond to grab your attention. Their catchy hooks and pop sensibility blend to create the perfect combination of indie rock bliss. Adventure Galley are one of those brilliant bands that successfully manage to meld more than a few genres into one song, splicing together elements from all the bands you know and love, whilst creating something totally new at the same time. Formerly signed to Myspace Records after winning a Nationwide competition, Adventure Galley is back stronger, and catchier than ever. Their live show is truly a mind blowing experience and an all around audience dance party, with anything and everything as fair game.

The video for “Weekend Lovers,” is not only beautifully done with a blast of vibrant colors and intriguing characters, but it invokes human nature. Our favorite part? The lyrics and scene at the 2:10 mark.

Adventure Galley is playing at Central SPAC on October 1st in Santa Monica. It is highly suggested that you head out and see this amazing band!
