‘Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre On Tour’ DVD Release on June 7th

Hell Yes. Oscilloscope Laboratories announced that it will release the highly anticipated film Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre On Tour on DVD June 7.

The film, which is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW Film and Music Festival, follows electronic feminist icons Le Tigre on the This Island tour across four continents and ten countries. Supported by a community of devoted fans and led by outspoken Riot Grrrl pioneer Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill), Le Tigre confronts sexism and homophobia in the music industry while tearing up the stage via performance art poetics, no-holds-barred lyrics, punk rock ethos, and whip-smart wit in this edgy and entertaining documentary.

Directed by Kerthy Fix (Strange Powers: Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields) Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre On Tour features never before seen live performances, archival interviews, and revealing backstage footage with these trail-blazing artists.

Check out the film at SXSW and at MoMA.

Young Man announces dates for SXSW

Young Man has received some internet love for his warm bedroom pop so far, with even Bradford Cox giving them a nod of approval.  Makes sense considering their tracks sound like they could have been recorded in a cozy attic or crawlspace, albeit with a window and some light.  Fresh off releasing Boy EP on Frenchkiss, Young Man intends to make the rounds at SXSW this year and has announced the date, time, and location of those shows (how nice!).  Not a minute wasted from the announcement, AOL Spinner included Young Man on its “Top 100 acts at SXSW 2011.”

Looks like everyone is telling you to go check them out.
