YACHT Remixes ‘Fruitcake’ By The Superions


Fred Schneider, frontman of the B-52s, and his group The Superions, have released a Christmas album, titled Destination Christmas. This hilarious album debuted #13 on Billboard Magazine’s Top Comedy Albums chart. Out of respect for The Superions, Portland duo YACHT have remixed the song “Fruitcake” for your listening pleasure.

Start The New Year With Wakey!Wakey!

Brooklyn based indie-pop rock band Wakey!Wakey! certainly have something to celebrate as 2011 gets going.  Following their sophomore release Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You on Family Records, frontman Mike Grubbs will be taking his band to France in February for a slew of dates opening for James Blunt. 

But don’t worry New York fans, Wakey!Wakey! will be playing a few shows in the area in January before venturing off across the sea.  Check them out at Le PoissonRouge on January 13th and at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center in Westhampton Beach, NY on January 28th

Daphne Willis And Vangaurd Records Announce Innovative Album Campaign


Chicago based singer-songwriter Daphne Willis and her label, Vangaurd Records, have come out with a rather unusual way to release an album. Willis, whose sophomore album Because I can, will be physically released April 19th, 2011, will be releasing three 2-track digital 45’s beginning January 11th. From there, the next digital 45 will be February 8th, then March 8th, culminating with the release of the full album in April. The album will feature nine additional tracks not featured on the 45’s. Look for each 45 in all major digital outlet stores.
