Psych-electronic group Miami Horror have announced their return to North America for a coast-to-coast tour, making stops in Canada, Mexico, and SXSW along the way. The Australian four-piece embarked on a successful freshman tour of the States this past fall behind their debut album, Illumination- now available in the US iTunes store. The original Australian release is also now available as a 2-CD limited edition, which includes a bonus album of Miami Horror hottest tracks, as remixed by the likes of YACHT, Shazam, and Fred Falke.
While Miami Horror initially began as one synthesizer-obsessed producer huddled over a laptop, the group has now become a full, live band, recently playing critically-acclaimed sets at Australia’s biggest festivals, as well as some A-list slots opening for Phoenix, Friendly Fires, La Roux, and Lily Allen.

Some lovely news this week from camp Morning Benders. The band is set to release their second full length titled ‘Big Echo.’ The album was recorded after the brief winter tour this year with Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor. ‘Wow’ to say the least. Though there is no official release date for the record, we are sure it will be out on +1 Records by the end of the year, by early next year (according to singer Chris Chu). The Morning Benders are also taking their show on the road for the first time to Europe this summer along with a handful of shows in the West Coast (even one with Beach House). The band will be playing a few festivals in the UK with Lily Allen, Wilco and Grizzly Bear, a lineup not to be missed!

I’ve never been a fan of Lily Allen. Not because I didn’t like her music, but basically because I never had an excuse to listen to her. Sunday night while coming back from The Miniature Tigers show (review up this week!), I picked up a copy of Spin to read on the train ride home. It was the only half decent thing lying around. Miss Allen was on the cover and I thought I’d give her a chance.
Lily opened up about boys, drugs and alcohol and how she was trying to ‘better herself’. From there I kind of grew a respect for this sad girl trying to make her life normal. Yesterday I had caught her video for ‘The Fear’ which is off her newest record ‘Its Not Me, Its You’. Both video and song are very intriguing. ‘The Fear’ seems like it ventures away from the last record and I must say, the song sounds very sweet. The video matches it with pastel colors, dancing boys and balloons. Lily Allen, I think you’ve got a new fan.
