Healing Spells Get Spiritual on “Sanctuary”

healing-spells-grungecake-thumbnail

One of my favorite artists to emerge this year is Tokyo-based Healing Spells. The brainchild of Past Lives, he comes to life with a 4-song EP that is filled to the brim with musical goodness. Taking a page out of the books from artists such as Four Tet and Gold Panda, the unique sound knows no limits when it comes to breaking the musical barrier. With original tones that flow throughout the EP had me pressing ‘replay’ before it was even over.
The artist states about the release:
“I never learnt or made music the traditional way. I learnt guitar very late, when I was in my late teens to set – up my first band with a friend at the Uni. We were a duo and made garage – folk rock tunes.”
His talent is undeniable as it overflows on each track. Songs such as “Infinity Pond,” and “Sanctuary,” drive the release home, to bring a special listening experience to your ears. Give a listen to “Sanctuary,” below and quickly find out why everyone will be talking about Healing Spells.

https3a2f2fimages-genius-com2fdc6020bc8347246f854cf264355ee189-700x700x1

Dear Absentee Creator has just released the new album, “Astral Cloud Ashes.” The brainchild of Antony Walker, he entices and delights on the record, which makes us wonder where he has been all of our lives. As he blends epic sounds of rock, indie, alternative and a little Emo, the result is a sound that is unique and very much his own. Every track on the album stands out prominently while creating a cohesive collection that stuns from beginning to end. Showcasing the different sides of his musical abilities, Walker takes center stage on vocals, guitar, bass, drum, and synths. Impressive to say the least! On the record standout favorites for us include the noteworthy single “Grateful for the Ghost In Our House,” alongside “Old Moods,” and “Ironed Shirts.” What does Dear Absentee Creator have up his sleeve next? We’re on the edge of our seats to hear….

a3063939702_10

Ajay Mathur is an absolute delight on the latest release, “Little Boat,” which hit stores earlier this Spring. The theme of the record channels Ajay’s own life and the struggles the artist has had throughout the years. Quoted as “Growing stronger in the face of adversity,” Ajay has come out of the tough situations stronger and better than ever; facing those challenges that laid ahead. On the record there we hear a vibrant collection of songs that will draw your attention from the start. From the brilliant rock ballad of “Ordinary Memory,” to the slightly comedic nature of “Forget About Yesterday,” Ajay brings an eclectic sound to the forefront. With a growing number of accolades and listeners, its safe to say that Ajay Mathur is in it for the long haul…and we are too.

Luliano Heats Up the Summer with New Single & Video

luliano

One of our favorite artists breaking waves this summer is Luliano. Currently sharing his hottest new single and video for “Who Knows,” we get to know the artist on a deeper level. Bringing images and using them within the video to show how “We morph,” this is only the start of what is to come for the artist and his unique vision. Taken from his new album “Hidden Roots,” the collection of songs is filled with gems throughout; which proves he has staying power in the game of music. Each piece on the song takes his music to another level, with only the sky as the limit. Having spent sometime on the other side of the mixer board as an arranger and a producer, it is nice to see Luliano shine bright on his own terms. Watch the video below and dive in a little deeper.
