The Crystal Ark Premiere New Video, “The City Never Sleeps”

The Crystal Ark, the duo project of singer Viva Ruiz and DFA’s synthesizer master Gavin Russom, premiered the video for their first 12″ release, “The City Never Sleeps,” available now on DFA Records, on FADER.

Viva Ruiz herself directed the video for this hypnotic dance song where zombie-like humans seemed to get resurrected by a goddess of the dance floor for a psychedelic finish. Added bonus: we get to see Gavin Russom show off his moves.

Oberhofer Prep for Tour with Live Sessions Release

Brooklyn based Oberhofer released two different radio sessions onto the interweb. Unfortunately, as far as we can tell, BreakThru Radio has already taken down the audio from their session with Oberhofer. Daytrotter’s, however, is still up. And, even better, its available for download. The Daytrotter session offers a  nice taste of the band’s music for new fans looking to hear more. The sessions’ closing number, “House,” is especially good.

Known for their live shows, Oberhofer will be hitting the road beginning in January. Said tour will see them playing with bands like Distractions, The Vaccines and Tapes N’ Tapes. Check out the list of dates below.

Help Out A Place to Bury Strangers!

aptbr

A Place to Bury Strangers were doing a gig in Rome last Friday as a part of their 18-stop European tour when their tour bus was stolen from the venue parking lot. And with it, they lost 1000 Euros in merch money, all of their suitcases and clothes, a lot of merch (t shirts, tote bags etc.), bassist Dion Lunadon’s New Zealand Passport & Green Card, the band’s Macbook Pro laptop and numerous personal items. Their gear was safe in the venue, but they still need our help. They’ve set up a Paypal account that you can donate to and they’re even giving away a HolyFuck remix with every donation. Check out the remix here and help A Place to Bury Strangers here!
