Here We Go Magic Offer Track for Download off ‘The January EP’

Here We Go Magic are coming off the well-received release of The January EP, which they would be pleased for you to hear.  A couple of the EP’s tracks are available for download over at Pitchfork, “Song In Three” and “Hands In The Sky,” and you can stream the whole thing over at Spinner. Easy enough, then.

Consisting of leftovers from Pigeons, the band’s sophomore LP, The January EP wraps up a plentiful creative chapter for a group honing their original sound.

The New Pornographers Announce New Record and Massive Tour

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Canadian indie pop outfit, The New Pornographers, or at least it seems like it anyway. The band is back in action with the announcement of a new album and a tour of epic proportions.

They’ll be releasing their most recent record on their longtime label, Matador Records titled Together, out May 4th. The first single titled “The Crash Years,” just went on sale at iTunes today.

If you head over to the Matador Store, you get the sweet deal of a FREE EP of the New Pornographers covering three songs by Detroit’s own Outrageous Cherry.

That’s not all the band has in store though. They’ll be launching a massive tour from May 19th to August 4th! The band will be taking The Mountain Goats, Here We Go Magic, The Dodos, The Dutchess and The Duke and Imaad Wasif. Check out the tour dates below!

Happy Grizzly Bear Day!

We’re not sure if there is any other way to say it, but Happy Grizzly Bear Day! Really, has anyone talked about anything else all day besides the release of ‘Veckatimest’?  We haven’t been able to have a conversation all day without someone mentioning it.

‘Veckatimest’ is an album that is rich with one impressive song after another.  It gets better with every listen and truly takes you on a musical journey. This is by far Grizzly Bear’s best album yet, and is definitely the year’s most anticipated indie record. Not to call early shots just yet, but this is sure to be headed to many ‘Top Albums Lists of 2009’.
