Artist Joel Phil is ready to kick off the New Year in style. Making waves with his new release, “Raise Up,” the 4-track EP brings on some impressive names for the upcoming artist. Throughout the record we hear many diverse sides of the song which shows the range of Joel Phil. Alongside the EP, he has also released a new video for the original form of the piece, which shows his New York City and musical spirit. Drawing from modern greats such as Shawn Mendes and Calvin Harris, his flow and musicality is golden…and boy will you be impressed. On both the EP and in video form, Joel Phil comes off as quite a character in the best way possible; he’s interesting, his style is fresh, and instrumentation unforgettable. If “Raise Up,” isn’t one of your new favorite songs, I’m not sure what would be.

Billy Crain entices with his ambitious new record “Broken Things.” The legend who has spent time playing alongside the likes of the Allman Brothers and ZZ Top to name a few, is a stand out act in his own right. On the album we hear an artist that is writing and playing music on his own terms. Each piece is crafted perfectly to blend. Filled with slick guitar riffs and memorable vocals, Crain does an exceptional job of painting his lyrics on a musical canvas.
Each one of the songs on the record stand out on their own, creating a listening experience you will not soon forget. He breaks barriers and weaves witty instrumentation throughout and he brings a whole new meaning to Southern Roots Rock. From pieces such as “Orphan” and “Rock Paper Scissors,” he breathes a charming life into the songs. Crain knows no boundaries and constantly pushes the barrier with a bit of Southern charm in tow. Is it too early to say “Broken Things,” is on my favorites list in the new year?

Pop-Soul artist Rehya Stevens has just released a holiday single that tells the nativity story in classic style, reminiscent of Christmas standards from the public domain.

Supported by a choir of friends and colleagues who have also garnered acclaimed, she enlists the help of Jarrett Johnson (Take 6, Michael Buble), Alexx Daye (Patti Labelle, Frank Ocean), and LaVance Colley (Postmodern Jukebox, DWTS).

“Gloria” showcases compositional sophistication, while invoking influence from vocal powerhouses like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and CeCe Winans.

Produced, arranged, and co-written with Jon Kubis (orchestrator/pianist @ DWTS), and Peter Martin (orchestrator/pianist @ The Mickey Mouse Club), “Gloria” is the first single from Stevens’ Christmas LP TBR in 2018, a product of a crowd-funding partnership with Pledgemusic.com. 5% of all pledges benefit Imagine LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to mobilizing the community to end the cycle of family homelessness and poverty.

If “Gloria” is any indication of the body of work from Steven’s 2018 holiday LP, then music lovers will soon have a Christmas album to cherish for decades to come.
