For Twisted Wheel, Snakes and Ladders is not just a board game, it’s a CV.  Born in the backwaters of Saddleworth in 2007, the young band, fronted by the feral, precocious Jonny Brown, roared into the race of Indie Punk with such anthems as ‘You Stole The Sun’, ‘She’s a Weapon’ and ‘Lucy The Castle’. Their irrepressible energy and ability to deliver inspired Rock’n’Roll gained them support slots with  Oasis, Kasabian, Paul Weller, The Courteeners, Happy Mondays and Ian Brown to name but a few, as well as sell-outs on their first UK and European tours.

Constant touring across  the UK, Europe and Japan  (thanks to the Grass Route movement and large festivals) led to a solid fanbase despite the dramatic trajectory of its frontman, Jonny Brown – or maybe because of it. Twisted Wheel has indeed rocked and rolled, been smashed up, fallen off the wagon, gone solo, kicked to the kerb – before finding its groove and getting back on it, full speed ahead.

The unlikely combination of elegance and raw inspiration, the familiar coupled with the random, make Twisted Wheel an undeniably popular act that deliver the goods in a way few bands can.  But ‘Snakes and Ladders’ is a tour and album far closer to the bone than anything previous. The band has grown up and Brown’s song structures and lyrics are on another level, beyond haggard experience now, worn in with wisdom and wit. As he says: “The song ‘Smash It Up’ epitomised me. I set out to do things and was on the road comfortably and then I turned off and smashed it to bits. I get stuck into things with a passion and then I have to destroy it when the passion’s gone. Mess everything up so that I’m free again to reinvent, create.”

‘Snakes and Ladders’ is about the band blowing the ladders of opportunity they were given – and the snakes which led to them falling off the board. It’s a tour about getting back in the game, finding opportunity again and avoiding those slithery serpents.

After celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album ‘Magic Seed’ with some live shows, Swedish exports Easy started writing some new material and with their friend, producer Charlie Storm, started recording again (in Storm´s Cloud Chamber studio, named after one Easy’s tracks).

Satisfied with what they had created Easy pressed some CDs of the tracks they had recorded and gave them away to their friends, the band were on a creative roll and decided to write some music for Johan Holmlund’s poetry collection ‘Swimming with the Beast’.

‘Pop Songs’  might well be the loveliest tune Easy have ever recorded, ‘I Can Tell You Why’ is as catchy and joyful as any Tamla Motwn tune you can think of, ‘Little Boy’ is what Phil Spector would sound like if he was in a Swedish Indie band and ‘A Picture (I´ve Got Mine)’ is the love child of The Chills and Velvet Underground.

The new single ‘Ask The Sky’ was recorded during the Summer of 2017 and recieved worldwide airplay with a stunning video from David Janes. In short, ‘A Heatbeat From Eternity’ is a thing of beauty and the music remains as fresh as ever.

Brought together by a common passion for music, Chicago, Illinois’ Black Road began their musical journey in 2015. Black Road is a DIY labor of love that pulls from metal, rock, heavy blues, psychedelic rock, doom metal, jazz, funk, and folk as influences and inspiration.

Formed by guitarist Tim Morano and vocalist/lyricist Suzi Uzi, Black Road became a vehicle for this magnetic couple to capture a specific feeling or emotion and to convey them through the songs. Black Road signed with Netherlands based label DHU Records in August 2016. Within a month, the couple had to replace the former drummer and bassist for creative differences. In October 2016, Black Road’s line-up was solidified with the addition of Robert Gonzales (drums) and Casey Papp (bass). Together, Black Road creates a heavy and harmonious foundation of music that is dynamic and full of many layers.

After just months of being a band, Black Road recorded their debut album together. BloodRock Records (Italy) later signed Black Road for a limited-edition CD run, which was officially released on October 6, 2017. The self-titled debut EP was released on limited-edition cassette with DHU Records in mid-October. Since the album release, Black Road has had talks to sign a second CD deal with BloodRock Records, and is still awaiting the vinyl to be released very soon via DHU Records sometime in early 2018.

Reports today that Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of the Cranberries, has died in London at the age of 46. The news was announced by her publicist. A cause of death has thus far not been revealed. In an emailed statement, the singer’s publicist shared, “Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session.” The statement continued, “No further details are available at this time. Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
