Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin Get Dirty In New Video, “Critical Drain”

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin can write a good song but they can also pull a good stunt, as shown in their latest video “Critical Drain,” which just premiered on the MTVu website. The video, directed by the band’s friend Brook Linder and filmed in the band’s hometown, features some standard performance shots but mostly shows the band members dragged around on the ground. They even get splashed with paint in the process! Although they did their own stunts and didn’t get hurt, I wouldn’t recommend trying this at home. Watch the video HERE.

And because the band just released, via Polyvinyl, the album Tape Club, which compiles all the best of what they’ve discarded over the years, they’re also touring! Are they coming near you? Check it out below.

Catch CASEY SHEA with TALLY HALL & APRIL SMITH and the GREAT PICTURE SHOW, FRIDAY NIGHT @ Bowery Ballroom

One of our brand new favorites, Casey Shea, is heading to the Bowery Ballroom tomorrow night, Friday, August 19th. What is to be one hell-of-a-show, Shea will be performing on the line up with Tally Hall and April Smith and the Great Picture Show.

A little bit of southern charm, the New York by way of New Orleans singer-songwriter is set to release his third record, In Your Head, on Family Records, October 11th.

Influenced by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, BEck, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, you know Shea has a good musical head on his shoulders.

Being no stranger to the music world, Shea has been a member of several bands, pop, rock and soul alike, bringing his sound on the road.

ABOUT IAN:

Ian Axel began his career when his typical 20-something job working at a Manhattan Apple Store suddenly became not-so-typical as his bosses caught wind of his musical talents. They flew him around the country to perform at dozens of stores around the United States, and included his songs on the playlists of hundreds of their stores worldwide. Ian officially “touched down” in 2011 when he released his debut full-length, This Is the New Year. The title track received over 1 million YouTube views, he performed on the nationally syndicated Rachael Ray Show and on La Blogothéque’s world-renown Take Away Shows, and his songs were featured on TV shows such as “One Tree Hill,” and as the theme to the MTV documentary series I Used to Be Fat.

However, it’s Ian’s live show that shoots him to new frontiers. He has an energy that recalls the intimacy, energy and excitement of performers like Regina Spektor, Elton John and Randy Newman. NPR described him as “a voice that possesses the sweetness of youth, the stubbornness of a teenager and the swagger of a rock star.” He is capable of captivating an audience as only the greatest performers do, an appeal that has not gone unnoticed, leading to opening gigs for Ingrid Michaelson, Evan Dando and, most recently, for Glee star Matthew Morrison’s at the 2500-capacity Beacon Theater on August 1st.
