Army Navy Release New Album, “The Last Place”

ArmyNavyPressPhoto

The California-based indie pop band Army Navy have now released their second album, The Last Place, through their own label, The Fever Zone Records! You can stream it in full at Aol Music. So you know what to expect, SPIN Magazine gave it an 8 out of 10, calling it “a feel-bad record you can actually feel good about.”  Not entirely sure what that means, but judging from the first excerpt the band has made available for download, “The Long Goodbye,” it seems that Army Navy could easily seduce you with their sweet pop tunes. The band is also set to tour throughout the second half of the year so keep your ears out for more news!

Listen to “The Long Goodbye” below:

The Strokes on the Cover of Spin Magazine

In case you’ve missed seeing their glowing faces on your newstand, The Strokes issue of Spin recently came out last week. In a special feature called “Behind the Comeback,” the magazine talks to the guys, seperately, getting a glimpse into all of their personalities and the problems the band have been having as a whole. It’s a good insight for the diehard fans or those just wanting to know more about the guys. Spin covers everything from Albert’s drug addiction to the great and not so great side projects of the past five years. You can also take a peak at the issue online, HERE at Spin Magazine.

Free Energy Set to Join Weezer on Tour

Over the last 8 weeks or so, DFA’s Free Energy have been rolling out a series of videos entitled “Free Energy’s Power Hour.” An odd mix of comedy and music, the the series was written and directed by the band with help from director, producer and friend Ben Nabors.

Lest we forget what the Free Energy boys are actually known for, they’re currently in the midst of a SPIN Magazine sponsored tour with Foxy Shazam. And, later this month they’ll join Weezer for a handful of shows. A full list of dates can be found down below.
