Echo Lake Announce Debut EP ‘Young Silence’ On No Pain In Pop

Starting as a bedroom project between art students Thom Hill and Linda Jarvis, South London’s Echo Lake have barely reached the infancy of their musical careers. While still less than a year old, the band has started to make noise, garnering acclaim from Pitchfork and The Fader as a cross between pre-Sub Pop Beach House and a more raw My Bloody Valentine. Deciding to take some time off from art school, the band recorded their debut EP for label and blog No Pain In Pop, set for release February 14th (in the UK) and February 15th (in the US).

Tracklisting:
1. Sunday Evening
2. In Dreams
3. Everything Is Real
4. Memory Lapses
5. Young Silence
6. Buried At Sea

Beats Antique Head Out On The Road

Combining string quartets and dubstep is not an easy task, but Beats Antique somehow pulls it off. The trio have been around for three years, hammering out three albums and a couple EP’s in that short span. Beats Antique released their latest album Blind Threshold this fall.

Now the band has announced a new U.S tour that has them pounding the pavement for the next couple months. Beats Antique also mentioned something about a SXSW appearance that I’m sure they will touch on sometime soon.

You can see this fusion of dubstep and world-roots in action…
