Dr. Dog Skate For New Video And Hit The Road For The Fall

Dr. Dog have had a record year. They released a new album, they’ve had two successful headlining tours and now they have a new video and another headlining tour to boot.

The indie rockers from Philly have released the video for their track “Shadow People” off the album Shame, Shame. The basic setting of the video: the laid-back track is set in a roller rink. Check it out below.

The band will also be hitting the road with the likes of Good Old War, and Here We Go Magic. Be sure to catch them as they run through your town. And for all those San Francisco fans, go here for a special two-day pass for their two-night stint at The Fillmore.

Jack White: Vinyl Inventor

Jack White may as well as add inventor to his growing list of accomplishments. The Dead Weather/White Stripes/Raconteurs frontman has invented what he’s christened “the Triple Decker Record.” And the maiden voyage for this vinyl venture? The Dead Weather’s upcoming single “Blue Blood Blues.”

The band will be releasing the single in the new vinyl, but also in 7” and 12” formats with appropriate besides. Not sure how this contraption will work? Check out Mr. White himself explaining his new invention below.

“Blue Blood Blues” is available now.

The Dismemberment Plan Return

The Dismemberment Plan Reunite

Renowned in the late 90’s and the early 00’s for their exuberant live shows, The Dismemberment Plan called it quits in 2003.

Now the group has announced plans to reunite, briefly, to celebrate the re-release of their seminal Emergency & I. The album is being put out on Barsuk as a double LP.

The re-release will feature four bonus tracks: “The Dismemberment Plan Gets Rich,” “Just Like You,” “Since You Died,” and “The First Anniversary of Your Last Phone Call.”

The band’s brief East Coast tour looks like this:

01-21 Washington, DC – Black Cat
01-22 Washington, DC – 9:30 Club
01-27 Philadelphia, PA – Starlight Ballroom
01-28 Boston, MA – Paradise
01-29 New York, NY – Webster Hall

So does this mean that we can expect anything new to come from this brief tour? The answer is a solid “maybe.” Bassist Eric Axelson told the Washington Post that “we’re not planning a new record. But we’re doing these shows and taking it day to day after that.”

Vampire Weekend On Ellen This Tuesday

Vampire Weekend, the indie rock entrepreneurs, are taking another stride on their victory lap post-Contra.  The album, their second out on XL Recordings, hit #1 on the Bilboard Charts it’s opening weekend and Vampire Weekend began taking over late night television.  Hitting up Colbert and pretty much every network talk show known to man, even one that no longer exists (Conan still lives), Vampire Weekend don’t have a lot of places left to go.  Thankfully, they have been invited to play on Ellen on September 28, and have chosen to play their new single, “Holiday.”  A secret song, of sorts, will also be played and not aired, but you can watch it over HERE.  And no, Lil’ P-Nut is not expected to guest, but you never know.

Check out the video for “Holiday” below:
