APTBS Go On Tour, Release Remix Video


A Place to Bury Strangers are about to embark on tour, but they are revving up for the tour with the release of a music video to accompany the Holy Fuck remix of their song Red Lights. APTBS are set to play new music in SXSW, as well as releasing their third studio album this year. Dustin Edge To Releases New EP

After two prior releases that ventured into bluegrass and up-tempo Eastern European influences, Dustin Edge just put out his new acoustic folk EP, Calm, on January 25th. This new EP takes a whole new turn from his previous recordings and couldn’t be more appropriately named: listening to the soft and poised songs Edge crafted immediately fills you with a sense of calm. Junk Culture Preview New Single, Announce Tour With Girl Talk

On February 1st, 2011, Junk Culture will release their newest 5-track, Summer Friends, via Illegal Art. The record was built form a collection of recordings made up over a lifetime by Deepak Mantena, Junk Culture’s main man. he describes the end product as “cosmic R’n’B” but it also contains Indian influences backed up by booming electro beats. Proof is below, with the title single, “Summer Friends.”

You can catch Junk Culture on tour in February and March with Max Tundra and fellow Illegal Art artist, Girl Talk. Mantena is known for putting on energetic live shows mixed in with video samples, so don’t miss it if “Summer Friends” tickles your interest.

My Cousin, The Emperor Announces EPs

Brooklyn’s My Cousin, The Emperor has announced they will be releasing two EPs on March 29th.  Volume I – Prospect Park West and Volume II – Broadway-Lafayette are being called “mini-soundtracks of the city” by the band.  Here’s a track called “Nothing Left for Us to Find”:

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead Set To Release New Album

…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead (Trail of Dead for short) is an indie rock band from Austin, Texas, known for their wild, energetic live performances. They’ve released five solid albums since 1998 and one fantastic album, 2002’s Source Tags & Codes. Their new album, Tao of the Dead, drops on February 8th, and the band will celebrate with a record release show at Littlefield on the same day. Conrad Keeley, the band’s frontman, is also a talented artist whose work not only graces the front of the album but will also be on display at the release show. Empress Hotel Announces Tour

Empress Hotel, a band composed of a pair of brothers and a bunch of good friends, are about to embark on a tour that passes through SXSW. The tour promotes their new EP via Park the Van, and as you can hear in “Bells Ring“, the bands sound is very inspired in 70’s pop and maybe even Prince, Roxy Music or Ace. The band is made up of Patrick Hodgkins on bass, Leo DeJesus on keys and percussion, Julie Williams on keys, Micah McKee on lead vocals and guitar, Ryan Rogers on guitar and Eric Rogers on drums.
