The Pierces Release “Love You More”

the pierces

The Pierces, a New York based band composed of Catherine and Allison Pierce, are definitely doing a good job creating hype for their upcoming record. Their lead single, “Love You More” is a clear continuation of The Pierces’ style of dark lyrics and themes but at the same time you can hear how country has become inspiration for the sisters.  Top of the line producers such as Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman and Grammy Award winning producer Rik Simpson are now working on their upcoming album. The sisters also collaborated with Matt Romano from Little Joy and Albert Hammond Jr. from The Strokes, which will definitely provide more of a rock feel to their tracks. The still unnamed album was recorded in Coldplay’s studio in London and in Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Now there are visuals to go along with the lead single, as the Pierces released a music video to “Love You More”. This Tarantino-esque clip takes us to a desert where the siblings drive around and get revenge from an old lover, like a pyromaniac version of Thelma and Louise. Check out the fiery video under the cut!

Nicole Atkins’ “Mondo Amore”

Mondo Amore

Brooklyn based Nicole Atkins is soon to release her bluesy sophomore record called Mondo Amore in 2011. Her first and lead single, “Vitamin C”, is a cover of 70’s German experimental band Can and it definitely leaves you wanting more citrus. Mondo Amore is a promising record that touches up on dark psychedelia and blues. “This is the record I’ve been wanting to make since I was 12,” says Atkins. “It has so many layers, it’s able to do whatever it wants without defining itself as one thing.” Keep your eyes out for this album cover, and listen to “Vitamin C”.

Innerpartysystem’s Shares “American Trash”

Innerpartysystem, composed of Patrick Nissley on vocals, Jarred Piccone on drums and Kris Barman on synth and guitar, are tearing it up with their new single “American Trash”. The juxtaposition of the social critique in the lyrics and the heavy beats create an exhilarating experience for the eardrum. You might recognize the track while going clubbing, but its also slowly but surely invading the airwaves. It’s the most requested track in the KTCL radio station, and its clear why.

After touring in the Nylon Fall Music Tour with a sense-tingling light show, Innerpartysystem are prepping up to release their yet unnamed EP next year, but you can listen to “American Trash” below.
