Hailing from California, meet The Dangerous. The band who have been making big waves with their new video for “Gangsta,” shows their raw and honest side, bringing to life their journey both in music and in life. The Indie-Reggae infused band bring a dash of light to the table, which will draw your attention as it has ours. Gearing up to release their debut album, The Dangerous are ones to keep an eye on. We speak to The Dangerous as we go a bit deeper into “Gangsta”…

Tell us the story of this song, why did you choose to visualize this song specifically?
Edgar – This song reflects parts of growing up in San Jose, CA for both Keviano and myself. We used to live down the street from each other on 33rd street. This is where we started jamming with friends in my garage. So the song is just a small glimpse of what it was like for us growing up skateboarding and playing music. We didn’t really choose to visualize for this song, it kind of just fell together on its own. Keviano originally thought of the idea of filming at the skatepark but Matt Freiheit was the mastermind behind the magic. He filmed and directed the video. So big thanks to him and everybody that showed up at the park that day.

What was the inspiration behind this video(visuals, storyline, etc.)?

Edgar – The inspiration was just to film something cool really. This was the first music video the band had ever shot so we were just stoked to be there filming. There wasn’t a set storyline. Matt just directed us on the go. It was all improv.

What was the process of making this video?

– Keviano thought of the idea of filming at a skatepark and pitched it to Matt (director)
– Matt loved the idea
– We created an event on facebook and invited a bunch of people
-People showed up and we filmed for about 2 hours
-Matt went on to edit and produce the video
-We loved the end result

Edgar – It was such a smooth process. There was no creative tugging or difficult hurdles. We’re very fortunate to be surrounded by creative and open minded artists.
