Yuck Hits the Road with Tame Impala for Spring Tour

UK band Yuck just wrapped up its first ever U.S. tour, opening for Fat Possum labelmates Smith Westerns, and now they’re making their second stateside trek with like-minded Aussies, Tame Impala. The band will also make its first ever appearance at SXSW this March in Austin.

Country Mice Make Their Way To Several Major Cities

Jason Rueger spent most of his youth in rural Kansas, walking dirt road paths, working and living off the land. So, when he decided to move to Brooklyn, his family was understandably shocked. It didn’t take long for Rueger to justify his move though. In only a few months time he had teamed with fellow Midwest transplants Ben Bullington (guitar) and Kurt Kuehn (drums) to form Country Mice.

This spring the band, which also includes upstate New Yorker Mike Feldman (bass), will release a new single “Festival” on March 28 and their debut album Twister on June 7th. They’re also touring in support of their new material. Dates are down below.

Acrylics Announce Tour

Brooklyn duo Acrylics (aka Molly Shea and Jason Klauber) have announced a North American tour with Jose Gonzalez-led Swedish trio Junip. Set to kick off in late April, after Acrylics play a string of dates at SXSW, the tour is meant to promote their debut LP, Lives and Treasure, out this week via Hot Sand/Friendly Fire Recordings. Nik Freitas Readies New Solo Album

LA musician Nik Freitas is putting the final layer of polish on his fifth solo album, which will be out sometime early this summer.

Released on Little Record Company, the album came together when Freitas took a break from touring in Broken Bells and The Mystic Valley Band (with Conor Oberst).

Scanners Set To Tour The UK


London band Scanners will be releasing their second album Submarine on March 21st and to appease their ever growing fan base, they will be hitting the road in the UK. 

The band has already been capturing quite a bit of attention with songs featured on shows like Gossip Girl, Entourage and Beverly Hills 90210.  They have also caught the attention of some fellow bands and have shared with stage with the likes of Florence and The Machine, Air, The Wedding Present and Devo.  Mega stations Radio One and XFM have shown their love for the band as well. 

Submarine is a reflection of the band’s evolving sound that has matured over the years.  With haunting vocals and rich layers of upbeat rhythms, their latest endeavor is a quick reminder as to why Scanners has made such an impact for fans in the USA and UK.  And it seems there is no slowing down as they are already close to completion of their next album due out sometime next year.  In the meantime, be sure to catch this amazing act on their current jaunt and keep an eye out for them as they continue to make their mark in the music world.
