Hot Club De Paris Set To Release North American Debut On January 18th

Liverpool’s Hot Club De Paris will be making their North American debut this January 18th, with the release of Free The Pterodactyl 3 via Moshi Moshi Records. Self recorded and produced in the trio’s Liverpool rehearsal space, Free The Pterodactyl 3 features tracks taken from their two previous EPs, With Days Like This As Cheap As Chewing Gum, Why Would Anyone Want To Work?, and The Rise and Inevitable Fall of the High School Suicide Cluster Band.

Spectrals Feel the Love from Critics

This isn’t much of a news story, more so another outlet to herald Louis Jones’ project, Spectrals — but this time with some stamps of approval.  Yes, people are currently digging the UK band’s coyly titled debut EP, Extended Play.  Spectral’s dreamy, romantic 60s pop could be well-received nearly anywhere (including your parent’s prom).  Your parents wont be telling you to turn this shit down.  If you’re new to Spectrals, here is a salvo of tracks and a video to whet your palate.

“I Ran With Love But I Couldn’t Keep Up”

“Chip A Tooth (Spoil A Smile)”

“7th Date”

“Peppermint” (video)

Soda Shop Jerk a 7″ and a Video

Not to take anything away from Soda Shop, but they sound exactly like their name would lead you to believe.  Imagine an Utopian 50’s diner, where half a decade of hindsight has allowed Soda Shop to go back and doctor up the ideal atmosphere with “Farewell” — where everyone is smoother than the Fonz, with even the next generation’s hippies wishing they could be this chill.  Washed out Chuck Berry guitar licks go a long way to accomplishing this lofty vision.  Add bells, a tambourine, and kind vocals awash in reverb and Soda Shop make it seem natural and fun.  The Brooklyn duo features Drew Driver from Horse Shoes and Maria Usback from Selebrities.  Look for the “Farewell” 7″ out January 18th and pick up the song at this link.  The accompanying video puts the archetypal images in place to round out the experience.  Enjoy!

Los Angeles-based artist Active Child released their new music video via Pitchfork for their new single “I’m In Your Church at Night”. Mirrors Release New Video, Album Out Soon

UK electronic group Mirrors have their first full-length coming out very very soon. Titled Lights & Offerings, the band hopes to get it to your ears sometime in February.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the group has released its first music video from the album.

The track is called “Hide and Seek” and the music video is the stuff of nightmares. Featuring two legless clay figures that reanimate and stare at each other in the flickering glow of a TV screen, it’s disconcerting to say the least.

Just watch the video for yourself, but be careful. These things will haunt you.

Infantree Premiere New Video

Infantree are a band that seem destined to make a name for themselves. Perhaps just for the fact that there seems to be three one-person-bands in their band.

The band, comprised of: Alex Vojdani (vocals, lyrics, guitar, keys), Matt Kronish (vocals, lyrics, guitar, keys, banjo), Donald Fisher (vocals, lyrics, bass, mandolin, guitar) and Jordan Avesar (drums).

Following their well-received debut album Would Work, the band is premiering its first video off of the album.

You can glimpse “Slaughter House” right here.
