Starfucker Add Dates To North American Tour

Portland’s Starfucker (or STRFKR for the faint of heart) have been selling venue after venue supporting their second album, Reptilians, out on Polyvinyl on a coast to coast tour they kicked off in March. Accordingly, they just added dates to their tour which include playing San Francisco’s Outside Lands and Canada’s Sled Island. Spinner included them in its Top 100 Acts at SXSW 2011 and Pitchfork said, “Onstage, the members swap multiple instruments, providing a kinetic, anything-can-happen energy” when describing their live performances. If they’re coming near you, you might want to check them out.

Black Lips Film Modern Art

Last week, Atlanta-based punk rockers Black Lips debuted the video for their new single “Modern Art” on Pitchfork TV. The video, which was directed by occult expert and Kenneth Anger protege Brian Butler, is in a word… strange. I imagine it’s the sort of video that would blow your mind if you smoked before watching it, but without that aid it is just very strange. Anyways, don’t take our word for it, watch the video and let us know what you think the comments section down below.

Hunx And His Punx Announce 2011 Tour, Release Single For Debut Album

Hunx and His Punx, that mixture of 50s teenage rock n roll, 60s girl groups and bubblegum pop, are finally releasing a proper album after 2009’s Gay Singles LP (Matador/True Panther Sounds), which was a collection of hard-to-find and out-of-print 7″ singles. The Album, Too Young To Be In Love, has a release date of March 29, 2011 through Hardly Art. The Luyas Offer Up New Album Title Track, “Too Beautiful To Work”

Listen: The Luyas: "Too Beautiful to Work"

The Luyas’ debut album, Too Beautiful To Work, will be out on Dead Oceans on February 22nd. It will feature Owen Pallett as well as Arcade Fire’s Sara Neufeld. The Canadians, however, have already made the LP’s title track available to download over on Pitchfork. “Too Beautiful To Work” sounds deceivingly simple with Jessie Stein’s soft high-pitched voice but the music and lyrics form a never ending whirlwind of layers that make this title track really interesting.
