Andria Piperni Unveils Gorgeous New Release “Who’s Counting?”

Singer/songwriter Andria Piperni creates a jazz-tinged alternative fusion of R&B and soul, inspired in part by the everyday experience as well as her vividly surreal dream episodes. Her 2018 debut single “Say Something” made its way onto Canada’s R&B/Soul iTunes chart, with follow-up singles ranking on iTunes and Spotify charts around the world.

With the past year bringing a whole new outlook on life as we know it, Andria delivers her own reflective collection of waking moments on her soulful debut Who’s Counting? EP. There’s a mix of both feel-good vibes and more somber emotions throughout these songs, but they all circle around this theme of taking a step back in order to see and understand things more clearly or in a new light.

Satirical with a serious subject, title track “Who’s Counting?” is a hauntingly ironic song created to take listeners on a thought-provoking journey.

I M U R Reveals Epic New Single “Sad Girls Club”

I M U R creates genre-bending make-out music, weaving alt-R&B and avant-pop into undeniably catchy songs that fit just outside the box. Composed of singer/songwriter Jenny Lea, producer/guitarist Mikey J Blige, and producer/multi-instrumentalist Amine Bouzaher, I M U R’s sound is a cinematic blend of smooth and sultry, tussled together with texture and bounce. Their lyrics tell a story of self-reflection, strength in vulnerability, and the courage to tackle taboo subjects like addiction/recovery and female sexuality.

Taken from the trio’s forthcoming album, My Molecules, new single, “Sad Girls Club,” is about the trickery our subconscious mind plays on us when we’re feeling low. It’s about self-deprecation, unworthiness, and being burdensome.

Abby J Hall Reveals Vibrant New Single “Tough Love”

Canadian singer/songwriter Abby J Hall loves nothing more than to write her stories down and put them to music. Having spent the past year in the studio, she is excited to continue sharing new music with the world.

As our world creeps more and more into a digital existence, it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between what is real and what is not. Abby’s latest single, “Tough Love,” is a reflective pop track that exposes how alone many of us feel in the midst of a seemingly crowded space.

Jeff Beadle Comes Alive with “Sometimes”

For Jeff Beadle, the reality of working at the speed of inspiration means writing in solitary unromantic spaces, casting an inescapable sadness to his music. Personal evolution and the unconventional wisdom cultivated from extensive touring in Europe, Asia, and Canada, was the catalyst for his new era of dark alternative pop. His unwavering honesty and introspection continue to be the backbone of his lyrics, acquired from years as a folk singer-songwriter.

Recently sharing a bill with Tokyo Police Club and Hollerado, Beadle’s music naturally leans into the current genre-bending climate. Steeped in anguish and an edge that’s reminiscent of the alternative influences he was raised on, is Beadle’s latest single “Sometimes.” He cultivated inspiration from profound situations that had a massive impact on the shaping of his life. In grieving, he came to terms with his own mortality as he searched for his place in the world.

Pearls & Bones Share Epic New Track “Sawed in Half”

Pearls & Bones is an alternative hip-hop band based out of Toronto and Montreal. The trio write and perform music inspired by discordant influences, from metalcore and PC music to backpack rap and pop-punk. Since forming in 2012, the band has released five EPs and two full-length albums. Their third record, Cool Uncles, culminates a two-year period of technical and aesthetic development just dropped on May 28.

Focus track, “Sawed in Half,” was originally inspired by the movie Kill Bill and the contrast of Uma Thurman spraying viscera and pulling out eyeballs paired with a psychedelic colour scheme. The song ironically pairs some pretty horrific lines and gnarly concepts with a radio ready, power pop melody.

Kodiak Arcade Reveals Epic New Single “Dumb”

As a project, Graeme CorniesKodiak Arcade is a hi-fi homage to the lo-fi sounds of the past. It’s a set of sonic landscapes, where the humanity of the organic performances are intertwined with sounds that can only be created by modern tech.

Cornies teamed up with Joshua Van Tassel (Great Lake Swimmers, KIRTY, Dream Date Studios) for brand new single “Dumb,” about the kind of uncomplicated, unconditional love that dogs and babies give away so freely. A tribute to non-verbal friendships as well as the kind of love that often makes us want to abandon our adult selves, and get lost in mindless play.
