Get Some of Lykke Li In New Video

I don’t know about you guys but, when I first heard the debut single from Lykke Li’s new album, I began to eagerly anticipate the release of its accompanying video. After all, the song was entitled “Get Some.”

Yesterday, that video arrived via PitchFork. But, its not at all what I was expecting. Absent is the innate sexuality of the song. In its place is an almost cult-like call to arms. Check out the slightly disappointing video down below, along with Li’s upcoming tour dates.

Rodeo Massacre Prep New Single

Rodeo Massacre won’t officially release their new single, “Zombies of Life,” until November 22nd. But, the duo recently released a video for the track. And, as if that weren’t enough, Cornershop dropped a remix of the track earlier this week. Both can be found below.

Chris Garneau Fends Off a “Dirty Night Clown”

With “Dirty Night Clown,” Chris Garneau crafted a vivid and textured song. Director Ryan Gibeau took note of this. And, when he agreed to lens a video for the track, it was with some specific ideas in mind.

“The music created such vivid visuals and Chris was very open to hearing my interpretation for the video. I wanted Chris in the video, but rather than in person, I wanted a puppet representation of him instead. He agreed and we were able to create a compelling, all puppet, story.” said Gibeau.

The entire process of finding the right puppeteer and then filming the video took upwards of two months. But, the final product is quite wonderful.

Warm Ghost Signs With Partisan

Now that he’s recording under the moniker Warm Ghost, Paul Duncan has ditched traditional instrumentation in favor of electronics, synthesizers, drum machines and processed field recordings. Initially a side project, Warm Ghost has evolved into a band in collaboration with Oliver Chapoy.

Warm Ghost’s sound is an intricately arranged shimmering sonic world of twisting words and melodies. The group manages to mix elements of 80’s new wave, cold wave and synth pop with late 70’s disco, synth programming. On May 11th, the group released their debut EP, Claws Overhead, to warm reviews.

Recently, the Warm Ghost signed a deal with Partisan Records to re-release Claws Overhead with 4 additional songs before year’s end. The group is currently recording their debut album. If you’re interested in seeing them live, Ghost will be at Webster Hall Studio in New York City on December 9th.

Twin Shadow Mixes Things Up

On November 15th, Twin Shadow will release his debut album, Forget. In the meantime, Shadow, who Pitchfork recently featured in their Best New Music section, has unveiled two high profile remixes to tide over fans.

Twin Shadow is also headed out on the road, come November; a full list of dates can be found below.
