Sam and the Sea Come Alive with Double A Side

Sam and the Sea are a New York based singer, songwriter, record producer, and visual artist. The childhood love-at-first-sight affair with the guitar was only the beginning of their polymath musical education, which eventually extended to drums, bass, piano, percussions, and of course vocals, until inevitably music became inextricably linked with existing. Their songs are immediately personal and dreamlike, arranged with a DIY mix of real and electronic instruments, with a unique breathing vibe and intimacy reminiscent of Elliot Smith’s finest moments. Having beefed up their musical chops in the NY city through gigging and acclaimed producing duties for the likes of Siv Disa, Sam and the Sea eventually released their debut single and accompanying video ‘The Light’ in March 2020 to good international press coverage. While promotional plans were scuppered by the ongoing pandemic, Sam and the Sea pursued continued to write, record and produce – although the two tracks forming this release were borne out of very unique circumstances, only adding to the intimate listening experience. The songs share a similar structure, both starting with a bare guitar pizzicato and vocals, before building up to a catchy groove and more layered instrumentation, almost as if to gently transport the listener to the full flow of the tracks.

’Little Lies’ and ‘Thinking Slow’ were both written in the same night when I was stranded in the woods in winter in rural Canada. I had driven across the border to see friends and do some work, and I brought all this gear with me–my car was packed full. I remember the border guard asked me so many questions, wondering what I was doing coming into Canada with so much stuff. The car broke down when I finally got to the cabin in Lachute, so I was stuck alone there with my gear for a few days while it got fixed. I had intended to do some finishing work on another piece, but I was stuck with nothing to do and I also wrote these two songs. Vocals for both were recorded that night, and additional parts were completed in upstate NY over the course of the next year.’

Big City Lights’ Reveal new single, “Nothing Makes Sense Without You”

Music has a way of bringing people together along with a few well placed social media posts, and that’s exactly what happened when four relative strangers from Oshawa started the journey that would come to be known as Big City Lights. Big City Lights plays country music with a twist of soulful pop, rock, and R&B, pushing the limits and bringing a new sound to the ever growing genre.

Big City Lights’ new single, “Nothing Makes Sense Without You,” grew from that feeling you get in your stomach when you know you’re falling for someone and highlights the band’s vocals and harmonies.

4 Minutes Later Share Epic New Single “Grace”

The curious case of 4 Minutes Later began in 2018, when the account tweeted “music coming soon.” No band members, no band images, no shows, no location given, just the promise of music. It wasn’t long before curiosity captured an online audience and #whois4ML trended across the UK, USA and Mexico, before even releasing a song.Over the course of the following year, 4 Minutes Later delivered a series of singles before releasing their self-titled debut EP, all while remaining anonymous. With the cancellation of their 2020 USA headline tour due to COVID-19, 4ML decided to record their debut album.  Haunting and tragic, the emotional first single “Grace” portrays the difficult realities of watching your loved one disappear while battling dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The band will finally break anonymity following the release of “Grace” in order to bond with fans on a new level.

Andria Piperni Unveils Gorgeous New Release “Who’s Counting?”

Singer/songwriter Andria Piperni creates a jazz-tinged alternative fusion of R&B and soul, inspired in part by the everyday experience as well as her vividly surreal dream episodes. Her 2018 debut single “Say Something” made its way onto Canada’s R&B/Soul iTunes chart, with follow-up singles ranking on iTunes and Spotify charts around the world.

With the past year bringing a whole new outlook on life as we know it, Andria delivers her own reflective collection of waking moments on her soulful debut Who’s Counting? EP. There’s a mix of both feel-good vibes and more somber emotions throughout these songs, but they all circle around this theme of taking a step back in order to see and understand things more clearly or in a new light.

Satirical with a serious subject, title track “Who’s Counting?” is a hauntingly ironic song created to take listeners on a thought-provoking journey.
