To celebrate the release, Yung Bae will be debuting the first episode of his new “Groove Continental Radio” show, which airs weekly on Apple Music Hits, every Saturday starting June 12 at 7:00 p.m. PST. Following the release of “Woman On The Moon” featuring alternative singer-songwriter UPSAHL in April, Yung Bae has returned with another surprising collaboration that showcases the artist’s diverse musical taste. This time, he connected with rapper, singer, and record producer Channel Tres, whose track “Topdown” has over 20 million streams across streaming services.

“Wrote this song during the pandemic,” said Channel Tres about the collaboration. “When bae sent the track it resonated with what i was going through at the time and i just tried something out.”

“Wonder (feat. Channel Tres)” further solidifies Yung Bae’s future funk sound. The disco beat quickly begins with its catchy melody. Channel Tres raps to the beat with his signature deep and groovy vocals. The track sets the mood for a night drive from the very beginning.

“I’ve been a big fan of Channel Tres for a while, and really wanted to get this to him,” said Yung Bae about the single. “It turned out we have a lot of the same friends and were able to get connected. He came in one day with me, Bekon and The Donuts, wrote out another verse and killed it. The whole thing just felt so natural. I couldn’t be more excited with how it came out.”

In addition to the new single release, Yung Bae launches his new radio show on Apple Music. Listen live for free every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. PST or on-demand anytime on Apple Music Hits. The show will be celebrating the evolution of Funk and Disco over the decades, with Yung Bae connecting all types of songs from the genre through his music, friends, collaborators and inspirations while casually premiering new music. As host, the internet hitmaker will talk about his inspirations for his music and life with special guests and segments.
The weekly show format will consist of:

Split segments as a ‘back-to-back” with guest artists and music collaborators
Full special guest takeovers: Rising artists within the genre spectrum to legendary Funk/Disco artists, and artists who Yung Bae had notably sampled

Guest hosts: Notable artists host an hour of the show, programmed by Yung Bae, and share a few words and songs
“Groove Continental Radio is my way of taking a trip through time, spotlighting the evolution of funk and disco from over the decades and the role it’s played on influencing new genres of music, pop culture, and myself as an artist,” said Yung Bae about the radio show. “We’re staging this as a mid-century flight the listener will embark on, showcasing an hour of music, ranging from old school cuts, Motown, obscure finds, new pop hits, rising talent and new releases from my upcoming album. I’ll also chat about a few of the songs played in each episode and what they mean to me.”

Yung Bae will be performing live at The Novo in Los Angeles on November 20 to a sold out audience.

About Yung Bae:

Throughout his extensive catalog, now spread across 6 albums and a collection of singles, EPs and B-Sides, Yung Bae heralds the rise of Future Funk, stewarding the sub-genre from its niche underground internet culture into a cult-like phenomena.

Yung Bae immediately grabs his listener with a distinctive blend of the traditional and modern; spanning between smooth jazz, funk, old school hip-hop, to Studio 54 disco. He credits this range of inspiration to chillwave acts like Neon Indian, rock bands like The Doobie Brothers, DJs like Madlib, 90s hip-hop, or really, “anybody who’s touched funk”. He still dedicates hours daily to combing the internet for obscure samples, always challenging himself to push the envelope creatively.

“To press play on any one of the 24-year old producer/DJ’s releases is to be transported to a parallel universe, one that’s full of beautiful impossibilities. No matter the age of his listeners, Yung Bae’s music tends to stir up fond memories of decades past” ~ Bandcamp Daily

After signing to Arista Records/Sony Music Entertainment, Yung Bae has released a string of buzzworthy singles, including a new version of his viral track “Bad Boy” featuring Wiz Khalifa, MAX and bbno$. The original “Bad Boy” featuring bbno$ and Billy Marchiafava has over 100 million streams, viewed with over 2 billion impressions across 1 million videos on TikTok. Most recently, Bae released “Revolving” featuring Marc E. Bassy and “Disco Body Parts” featuring AWOLNATION, alongside collaborations with Mike Posner, kenzie and others.

About Channel Tres:

Starting with 2018’s “Controller,” Channel Tres has blended the drive of Detroit techno and the silky smooth grooves of Chicago house with the snarl of West Coast rap.

His music is no longer the little secret that dance DJs maybe had wished it would stay. For the last two years, Channel has toured the world to sold-out arenas, and found fans in everyone from Elton John to Tyler the Creator.

For Channel, music is about reconnecting with his own history, whether it’s in his lyrics, or through the influences and musical history he uncovers in his productions. It was Channel’s voice that truly opened the door for him – an effortlessly deep baritone that drapes itself over his instrumentals, appearing and disappearing in service of the song like a modern-day James Brown.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery & Country Music Star, Jimmie Allen, Celebrate Record Store Day with a Limited-Edition Vinyl & Music Video Release Called Hazy-O!

Dogfish Head, the “Official Brewery of Record Store Day,” collaborates with multi-platinum, chart-topping recording artist and American Country Music Awards 2021 “New Male Artist” Award-winner, Jimmie Allen, on a limited-edition vinyl and music video. Dropping on Record Store Day (Saturday, June 12), an annual celebration of independently owned record stores, the album features three of Jimmie’s hits and a brand-new song co-authored by Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer, Sam Calagione. Named for the brewery’s oat milk-centric hazy IPA, both the record and its leading track are titled Hazy-O!, and they are best enjoyed with a beer in-hand. Grab a copy, drop the needle and let the “Good Times Roll.”

“Each year for Record Store Day, we collaborate with a different musical artist, but this is the first time we’ve partnered with someone in the country music realm,” said Sam. “Jimmie’s connection to Delaware – he grew up just a mile from our brewery in Milton – made this collaboration feel like kismet and effortless. Not to mention, he (like all of us at Dogfish Head) is a beer geek with a music problem! Having the opportunity to personally create a song with Jimmie was a thrill for me and we are super proud of the results.”

Hazy-O! is a four-track vinyl with the following tunes: “Hazy-O!,” “Happy Hour,” “Slower Lower” and “Good Times Roll”. “Happy Hour” and “Slower Lower” were originally as part of Jimmie’s Slower Lower Sessions in 2018, while “Good Times Roll” is featured on his critically-acclaimed EP Bettie James, released July 2020. These easy-going, day-drinking anthems pair perfectly with any off-centered ale, but the record’s title track, “Hazy-O!,” is best enjoyed alongside a can of its namesake beer. Hazy golden in color, Hazy-O! is an “ooooh-so” juicy hazy IPA brewed with four types of oats – malted, rolled, naked and oat milk. Smooth, refreshing and chock full of tropical fruit notes, this summer-sipper’s attributes and taste profile acted as the liquid muse for Sam and Jimmie’s cooperative tune.

“It’s always cool working with Dogfish Head, it’s another chapter in a relationship we’ve built,” said Jimmie. “Looking forward to people hearing the record and seeing the music video.”

Drawing musical inspiration from the likes of Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan, – or as Sam calls them, “the great musical triad” – “Hazy-O!” offers a beachy, sunset-kind-of vibe with a chorus that will have everyone singing along. “Hazy-O!’s” lyrics come to life in a seaside music video starring Jimmie and Sam. The video features folks enjoying the Delaware coastline’s many natural wonders: beaching, boating, fishing and more, and concludes with a shot of the “hazy-o” sun setting over the water. Get a sneak peek, here. The full video drops on Record Store Day.

But that’s not all! Dogfish Head will continue the Record Store Day celebration at its new Miami brewpub with the release of Sweat? … Sweet! Brewed in collaboration with Sweat Records, one of Miami’s greatest music hubs, Sweat? … Sweet! (5.4% ABV) is a tart ale brewed with jackfruit, tamarind, cardamom and sea salt. With a punch of tangy fruitiness balanced by a slightly spicy, umami-forward finish, Sweat? … Sweet! will be available beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 for just $16 per 4pk/16oz cans. Those in attendance will also have the chance to win a selection of Record Store Day-themed giveaways, including a copy of Jimmie Allen’s new Record Store Day album, Hazy-O!, and a Dogfish Head Bumpboxx.

In addition to the release of Sweat? … Sweet!, guests visiting Dogfish Head Miami this weekend can enjoy the first of the brewpub’s “Waffle Party Brunch” events. Slated for Sunday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dogfish Head Miami’s “Waffle Party Brunch” will be hosted in collaboration with Sweat Records. Chow down on some delicious brunch dishes while listening to live vinyl music by PHAXAS.

Vela Rosa Comes Alive with New Release

Vela Rosa’s latest single new album “Run in Colour” encapsulates their sound and vibe fabulously. This Canadian rock and roll band is relatively new to the music scene, but that is in no way evident through their music. Their sound makes it seem like they’ve been doing this their whole lives. Their main influences are classic rock bands from the 70s and grunge rock bands from the 80s and 90s. But because most of the band members are only about 20 years old, there is a small hint of modern alternative rock (we really hear some Arctic Monkeys in there).

Lead single “All We Need” is a bluesy alt rock banger that serves as an outlet for the guys of Vela Rosa to speak on the counterculture movement of the 1960s, with a modern twist. This song is a commentary on the ostracization of queerness, and a criticism of the people in the world who align their political views with hate. “With a groovy bassline, simple guitar licks, and a smooth, half-time beat to tie it all together,” explains the band, “All We Need” explores the freedom of loving whomever we love without consequence. The bassline is, in fact, super groovy. It ties the song together in a way that a rhythm guitar couldn’t. The chord progressions in general create such a happy, nostalgic feeling, and the bassline adds so much to that positive vibe. The catchy, feel-good chorus definitely helps with that positive vibe, as well. Then, the outro of the song turns to half-time. “We all need someone worth chasing…” desperately repeats the singer over an 8-bar vamp, making the perfect ending to the perfect song. We love the inclusivity of the track, and its message could be as legendary as “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles. We can’t wait to hear what more they have in store!

BLUFF Reveals “Fight The Feeling”

BLUFF is a Russian-born, Canadian electronic music artist who bridges the gap between organic and digital realms. Making his musical start as a teen in various rock bands, playing guitar and singing, BLUFF discovered electronic music and never looked back. His work gets its distinct sound by combining his love of older alternative music, great songwriting and fresh sounds.

New single, “Fight The Feeling,” features singer Ehlee and is also BLUFF’s first collaboration with songwriter Lydia Sutherland. Inspiration came from chord progressions – the element that makes BLUFF dream. Lyrically, the song touches on overthinking aspects of a new relationship.
