Seth Anderson Turns on “Highway Lights”

SethHighwaySingle3000 (1)

Seth Anderson has spent his time on earth on a journey; in search of his truth, purpose, and an understanding of the world around him and his place in it. Currently sharing his new single “Highway Lights,” we find ourselves head over heels for the artist.

His songwriting offers an honest view of life from a unique perspective that has stemmed from years of traveling, moving from town to town, city to city, highway to highway; the high peaks, the low valleys, and all the spaces in between. Through all of this, there maintains one common thread- a bellow for love and hope. Few artists have such an intense emotional connection to their craft and this is where he shines. His delivery is genuine, yet at times ferocious with both conviction and vulnerability, comparative to artists such as John Moreland, Chuck Ragan, and Frank Turner.

Seth’s musical intensity crawls up your backbone making the hairs stand on your neck while adding goose bumps on your skin. His evolution began in a small town punk scene where he grew up in Hartland, New Brunswick. It was then followed by years of a blue-collar approach to his career, putting in thousands of miles while taking his music to audiences all over the world. His highly anticipated February, 2020 release, “We Could Be.” (Snappy Little Numbers), is another impressive step forward for Seth in his exploration of songwriting, musical styles and sounds.

Magical Beasts Show Their Musical Powers on New Release

Magical-Beasts

Magical Beasts are a Chicago-based Folk act that is making waves in a big way. Their latest “Yes, My Love, I Am Reaching” was released at the tail end of 2019, but carries itself boldly into the new decade.

Throughout the record, each song tells its own story while weaving common threads throughout. Filled to the brim with pieces about love and devotion, it also brings out the sexual imagery within the release.

For fans of artists such as Nick Cave, Sun Kill Moon and Leonard Cohen, Magical Beasts is truly their own musical force. Favorite songs of ours include “Darling,” and “In Praise,” which had us instantly head over heels. The brainchild of artist Nathan Paulus, he brings Josh Miller and John Herbst to the lineup. As the album and band is a true labor of love and artistic expression, Paulus also teams up with different musicians in the Chicago area to collaborate.

Magical Beast’s “Yes, My Love, I Am Reaching” is out digitally, now.

RuudAwakening: The Hip Hop You’ve Been Waiting For

front-1-559x559

RuudAwakening unveils his epic new release “CATHARSIS,” for your listening pleasure. Far from your typical Trap-Rap act, RuudAwakening is making music on his own terms. With a fresh flow and killer beats, he brings his truest form to the 10-song release. No guest spots, no fillers; all RuudAwakening.

His vocals and lyricism create a truly unique sound that makes RuudAwakening a true visionary in the field. “CATHARSIS,” is his debut full length release, and an impressive one right out of the gates. His vocals and rhymes are melodic and harmonious, bringing his story and message to life. The title of the album portrays his awakening and realization stemming from depression, fear, misery and insecurity, which builds him upon to have strength, assurance and peace within.

RuddAwakening shares of the record:

I wanted to create something with a lot of feeling, meaning, honesty and sincerity. I believe that I have. I want my listeners to be able to look at my core, and perhaps see themselves there as well. This music is for everybody. Catharsis is here to heal you.

Standout tracks for us include “Paradise,” “Runway,” and “Love Junkie,” which help to show the range and talents of RuddAwakening as an artist.  Though it’s hard to choose favorites as each piece has their own tone and story.

Hip Hop has been a spiritual journey for the artist, as he took comfort in the genre at an early age. Influenced by notable artists such as Jay-Z, A$AP Rocky, Nas and more, he honed his writing and producing skills as he created a unique sound and vision all of his own.

Sarah Schonert Unleashes Bold LP

594290

Sarah Schonert is an artist to put on your radar immediately. Her new full length release comes In the form of “Songs About Sounds,” which will be sweet candy to your ears. The record is truly a labor of love for Sarah, as she produced, and wrote the tracks on the release. Her synth-driven sounds bring a strong, avant-garde song to the table, as her strong vocals help to bring the songs to life. Sarah’s approach to music is both interesting and unique as she blends in elements of her career and hobbies into the mix.

Sarah shares with us about the release:

I felt like I was really finding my voice with my previous LP (Penguin Party), and since then I’ve released an EP and a holiday album that have been progressing me forward with my instruments and gear. Songs About Sounds features a heavy dose of piano, as is my style, but also some hidden guitar and vintage synths. Like Penguin Party, many of the songs rely on a hardware looper for the driving grooves.”

As each song breathes a different life into the record, we found ourself head over heels for tracks like the visionary “Ain’t No Weight But Your Own,” and “Hold You Up,” a vibrant piece on the release.

The 10-song album will have you craving more of the artist, as each song flows perfectly from one to the next. Blissful guitars and pianos are placed throughout, as Sarah’s vocals hover over like an angel on a cloud.

Sarah Schonert’s “Songs About Sounds,” is out digitally, now.

Seneko Brings Delightful EP to the Table

59337375_680560079048241_1012424478585520128_o

Seneko is a promising artist that has been on our radar for the past few years. With his new EP in tow, “Should Numbers,” this is the 3rd release for the artist in the past 4 years. Impressive to say the least!

The 5-song EP is a collection of glorious songs that will fill your Folk-laced Americana needs.  Standout tracks for me include the infectious track “The Devil You Don’t Know,” and “Lost on Me” which help to show the range of Seneko as an artist. Each song stands strongly on its own, while bringing the collection together; making it a unique treat.

For fans of artists such as Wilco, The Jayhawks and the like, Seneko is definitely a must listen for your collection. Strong instrumentation and skillfully crafted songwriting bring a sound that is both bold and unique. This tone carries throughout the release, as Seneko never misses a beat. Seneko is also currently working on a bare bones rock EP projected to release Spring 2020 so stay tuned.

Folk music never sounded so good.

“Reflections,” Is gorgeously crafted from start to finish. With alluring tones and vocals that are to die for, Holiday offers a delightful track that brings out the very heart and soul in the artist.

Marva shares with us regarding the new shift in her music career:

“Part Two.” “It’s difficult for female performers who are middle-aged and older to return to the music business once it’s decided that they’re ‘too old,'” she notes. “I was pushed out of the industry by ageism, but I’m not letting that stop me from coming right back, right now!”

Born and raised in California, Holiday made the move to Tempe, Arizona for a change in scenery. No stranger to the game of music, she is known for her legendary staple track, “It’s Written All Over My Face.” Performing and loving music from an early age, Holiday broke into the spotlight with her heavenly voice and strong performance skills.
