We had the amazing opportunity of filming Brian Bonz on the last day of CMJ at his Brooklyn Rehearsal space. Bonz and his incredible band played a couple of songs for us and we couldn’t ask for a better way to end all of our festival filmings. Sit back, relaz, and enjoy the soothing and incredible music of Brian Bonz. (ps. stay tuned for the interview!)
Christopher Paul Stelling is an amazing up and comer who is currently living in Brooklyn. We caught up with the man himself one afternoon during CMJ in his apartment where he performed for us “The Lives of Saints.” With a haunting voice and music that touches your soul, let us introduce to you your new favorite artist.
We had the pleasure of filming the boys of Golden Bloom / Neutral Uke Hotel during CMJ for our Playtime! performances. The band was ready to play wherever they could and we think hands down, this is our favorite set in the series so far. It examplifies what we strive for with Playtime! The people walking back and fourth fit perfectly with the songs and it oddly seems like they should actually be there. Nothing got in the way of the boys when it came to pouring their hearts and souls into the music…not even the dog that was sitting by watching them. Well, maybe he did. Check out the two videos below. One song they play as Golden Bloom and the next, as Neutral Uke Hotel.
Friday morning during CMJ we were lucky enough to have the pleasure of filming Tommy from Jukebox the Ghost. Originally our plan was to film by the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, but as it was super cold that afternoon, we headed over to McCarren Park where he played us two songs on his banjo. Playing “Half Crazy,” and “Beady Eyes on the Horizion,” this was possibly my favorite moment of CMJ 2010. Take a peek at the videos below. You sure don’t want to miss out on these!
