The Whigs have released a band-directed music video for the song “So Lonely.” The song comes from the band’s current album In The Dark and the video features a lot of nifty editing to go along with the incredibly catchy song. The Whigs just started a European tour with Kings of Leon.

Modern Skirts showed up on the music landscape in 2005 with a piano-heavy focus and a spot on Paste Magazine’s 50 Best Albums of 2005 with Catalogue of Generous Men.
The band just put out their third full-length in which they turned down the pianos and brought up the guitar. Gramahawk has dark and gritty subjects while still keeping the catchy hooks and (moderate) piano that were featured in the band’s first two efforts.
The band self-produced the album in New Orleans, and you can hear a song off of the album right here.

Boston-based rock quartet Mean Creek recently made their way to Brooklyn to record a new EP with legendary producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., The Hold Steady, etc.). After being named “Best Boston Act” by the readers of The Boston Phoenix and receiving nominations at this year’s Boston Music Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for their track “The Comedian,” Mean Creek entered the studio earlier this month with Agnello in an attempt to capture their distinct live sound and energy onto recording. The resulting EP, entitled Hemophiliac, is now available for free download on the band’s BandCamp site.
