Ekelle Shares Genre-bending single “I Need That”

Ekelle is a multi-genre artist and songwriter from Toronto who rhymes about what she knows best: her real-life experience. Money, sex, drama and identity stir together to create a style that she calls Hood Pop – popular music with a street edge. Combining elements of hip hop, pop and R&B, Ekelle hopes that the honesty in her music will motivate others to share their stories too and to never give up.

New single, “I Need That,” is a reminder that you are that b***h, no matter what – even if we’ve all been inside for so long due to lockdowns that we don’t feel so sexy anymore. The pandemic hasn’t got any easier to deal with, and we all just need that confidence boost to keep us going. We’ll get back on the dancefloor one day.

Riley Michaels Shares “One More Heartbreak”

Riley Michaels’ new music evokes the vibe of driving down the highway with the roof of your car open, a day at the beach, or even a dance club. Others offer intimate feelings that listeners will connect with on a deeper level.

Produced by Andre Kaden Black and Tal Vaisman, “One More Heartbreak” is largely about taking care of yourself. Sometimes, we can be doormats to the people in our lives. After too long of living like that, we need to feel some sense of relief. In the case of this song, it is about realizing that the relationship that you have with someone is coming to an end – and it’s going to end badly.

Juno Uno Reveals Debut Single “Sides”

Juno Uno began his songwriting exploring sounds, like most teens do, on an acoustic guitar. He quickly expanded his sounds to other instruments and found a means of expression through the electric guitar and different synths. A brief move to Austin let him explore these sound palettes even more and increased his musical vision through experimentation and focusing his energies inwards to discover his own countless realms of the mind. He then returned home to McKinney where he began committing all of his time to writing and recording.

Juno Uno has developed a style inspired by poetic lyricism, modern psychedelia, and earthy textures which can be heard on his debut single, “Sides”.

Jessica Pearson and the East Wind Unleash “Broken By You”

Jessica Pearson is a Canadian born storyteller with a voice like melting honey on a summer’s eve. Accompanied by Maddy O’Regan on the fiddle, they bring to life tales of the past and express the beauty and heartbreak of the world today.

In life we have many different relationships; family, friends, co workers, partners. Most of these relationships are good, healthy, and help you grow as a person. But sometimes we end up in relationships that take away our voice, who we are and we become a shell of who we used to be. Jessica Pearson and the East Wind’s new single, “Broken By You,” is all about taking your voice back, being done with the pain and realizing that you can choose to stay in this place of hurt, or leave and find joy.

Wake Island Shines with Latest Single

Wake Island is an electronic producer duo originally from Beirut and now based between Montreal and New York. Through their music, they attempt to reconcile their Arab roots with their North American lives, infusing Middle-Eastern sounds into songs that are inspired by Detroit techno and 80-90s pop/rock.

Composed of Philippe Manasseh and Nadim Maghzal, Wake Island’s upcoming full-length, Born To Leave (out April 30th),  explores identity from various personal and societal angles through songs in three languages (English, French and Arabic).

Taken from the album, “Nouvelle Vague” (English Version) draws on the pair’s experience in overcoming the fear of change. Inspired by both Detroit techno and French electronic music from the ‘80s and ‘90s, the song also takes influence from Wake Island’s own middle-eastern musical heritage with violin lines and arrangement ideas that can be found in the works of artists such as Elias Rahbani.

Numb Tongues Reveal Punk-laced Single

Numb Tongues is a Toronto-based band that delivers a quirky brand of funky punk. Formed in 2015, the band is fronted by lead singer, lyricist and founding member Jonah Grinberg, who crafts his melodic hooks with a colourful character that only so few stages can contain. Rounding out the lineup is guitarist Tristian Lipton, bassist Max Wilson and drummer Corey Ryan.

Between the catchy lead melodies and rhythmic grooves, there’s more than enough for you to sing along, mosh, melt your face off and get you dancing like no one’s watching. Brand new track, “Stuck In The Blue,” juxtaposes a fun surf-rock riff with underwater imagery that acts as a metaphor for how we all feel stuck in an ocean, swimming in our fears of uncertainty.
