Acid House Kings Return with “Music Sounds Better With You”

Pop-darlings Acid House Kings released one of the most critically acclaimed pop albums in 2005 with the release of Sing Along With Acid House Kings. As Allmusic said waaay back then, “It all adds up to one of the best releases, indie or not, of 2005.”

Well, six long years have passed with no sign of the sequel…until now. Acid House Kings have released a new single off of their anxiously awaited upcoming album Music Sounds Better With You.

The album will be here on March 22nd, but luckily the song “Are We Lovers or Are We Friends” is out now.

Featuring some of the most sugary pop in recent years, the song shows that while years have passed, Acid House Kings have not missed a beat.

Of Montreal Want You To Mess With Their Song

Of Montreal want to see if you you’ve got the skills to put together a better song than they could. The band is offering $500 and their entire digital discography to the winning remix of the song “Famine Affair.”

Winner will be chosen by popular vote, and you can check out all the rules and download stems of the song right here.

The band has also released a music video for the song, their latest single off of their album False Priest. The video features…well, a lot of girls. And one guy. Honestly I have no clue what’s going on in this house. Check it out and see what you think it’s about right here.

Pascal Pinon Releasing First Album on Morr Music

Icelanders Pascal Pinon are a group of 16-year-old girls. This is important mainly because in the music they make, they sound at least 18.

These gals play music that is delicate and beautiful. It’s subdued without being sleepy, and it’s catchy as the flu. Luckily, Morr Music agreed, and is bringing Pascal Pinion’s (self titled) debut album stateside. It will probably be Iceland’s second best import of the year.

You can hear the track “New Beginning” right here.

Told you it was catchy. You can grab Pascal Pinon’s debut album December 3rd on Morr Music (just in time for the holidays).

New Collisions’ Debut Video

Boston’s New Collisions are (finally) releasing their first music video off of their lauded album The Optimist, with the track “Dying Alone.”

The band, which have already toured with Blondie and the B-52’s, filmed the video in a pretty fascinating way.

The group took seven days to film on some of the most popular spots in New York City, which in itself is not too unique. However, the group played their song verrry slooowly, so that when the tape was sped up, it looks like they are playing normally while everyone around them is at warp speed.

Weekend Out On The Road

San Francisco- based shoegazin’ trio, Weekend have been described as a band that takes the aggression of punk and filters it through a wall of reverb.

Favorably compared to bands such as No Age, Sonic Youth and Skullflower, the band has already released two sold-out EPs. The band has finished work on their first full length, Sports which is set to be released this upcoming Tuesday,November 9.

Weekend has also released a video from their upcoming album. You can check out “Monday Morning/Monongah, WV” below.
