Foxes in Fiction Premiere ‘School Night’ off “Alberto”

alberto

Foxes in Fiction is  the Toronto-based project of Warren Hildebrand, an art school dropout with much more than just visual creativity. His music is a diffused type of pop – its mix of electronic and analog artifacts make every Foxes in Fiction song into a dreamy one. With inspirations drawing from suburban life, surrealist expressionism, Brian Eno recording techniques, or even Katy Perry, Hildebrand has been able to get attention from Brooklyn’s Moodgadget Records with a record deal. His latest song “School Night” can be heard in this Pitchfork article. Check it out here, and make sure to pick up his EP “Alberto” out December last week.

Sin Fang Bous Release Cover EP

sinfang

Sin Fang, also known as Sindri Mår Sigfússon or half of the band Seabear, is prepping for the release of his new LP Summer Echoes. His solo project is an eerie mix of acoustic piano and guitar and an elfish sound, almost as if it was some sort of psychedelic pop. In order to prep the world for his music, Sin Fang is releasing a limited run 7-inch that includes two covers: Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and Simon and Garfunkel’s “Only Living Boy in New York”. You can check out a video of Sin Fang on the piano singing Landslide below.

U.S. Royalty to release “Mirrors”

usroyalty
Washington DC-based band US Royalty are finally ready to release their debut record after spending a year recording and writing the music as a band. The folk pop band has been compared to the likes of Local Natives and the Black Keys, but in reality, their inspiration is drawn from Kubrick and Ennio Morricone soundtracks.

The result is an electrifying single called “Equestrian”, which can be listened to here.

Make sure to pick up the promising “Mirrors” on January 25th, 2011.

Help Out A Place to Bury Strangers!

aptbr

A Place to Bury Strangers were doing a gig in Rome last Friday as a part of their 18-stop European tour when their tour bus was stolen from the venue parking lot. And with it, they lost 1000 Euros in merch money, all of their suitcases and clothes, a lot of merch (t shirts, tote bags etc.), bassist Dion Lunadon’s New Zealand Passport & Green Card, the band’s Macbook Pro laptop and numerous personal items. Their gear was safe in the venue, but they still need our help. They’ve set up a Paypal account that you can donate to and they’re even giving away a HolyFuck remix with every donation. Check out the remix here and help A Place to Bury Strangers here!
