Etty Lau Farrell Releases “He’s A Rebel” In Her Solo Debut

Today, Etty Lau Farrell, vocalist for the band Satellite Party and lead singer-dancer for Kind Heaven Orchestra has made her first debut as a solo artist with the single “He’s A Rebel”— available today on all digital streaming platforms. Produced by her legendary husband, Perry Farrell, the godfather of alternative rock as co-founder of Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros, this song pays tribute as a cover by iconic 60’s trio, The Crystals.

A Billboard #1 chart topper in 1962, the musical piece touches base on a well-revived classic love-story trope–the bad, socially rebellious boy, and the lovestruck, innocent good girl. The tune of the song begins with a dramatic twist, incorporating a rhythmic, 70’s beat to the original melody and leads listeners into the tantalizing strums of the guitar to make itself known, as Etty’s heavenly voice begins to belt out the heart-warming lyrics. Transported to another world filled with romance, desire, and hypnotic instrumentals, the astoundingly constructed symphony of musical elements and ethereal vocals highlight the unmistakable talent of this emerging songstress. Although the unknown rebel The Crystals sang of remained elusive, Etty’s tune taps into her love of Perry and their rebellious life together.

Throughout her long and fruitful musical career, Etty has accumulated a multitude of hit songs with Satellite Party and Kind Heaven Orchestra, including ‘Wishing On a Dog Star,’ ‘Machine Girl,’ ‘Hard Life Easy,’ and ‘Woman in the Window’. Working alongside her husband, the duo have made a name for themselves outside of their individual music careers in the festival industry with his flagship event, Lollapalooza. Lately, Etty has been working tirelessly on their newest project, a nightlife concert series, Heaven After Dark; which launched in Los Angeles on February 17th. With a growing following across her social media platforms expressing her own identity,, Etty’s charismatic, mischievous, and fascinating life has captured the hearts of her audience and amplified the excitement for this musical release.

The Video for AP Tobler’s “Blunt Force” Encapsulates the Meaning of the Single

Post-punk, alternative rock star, AP Tobler, just released their latest official music for their recent hit, Blunt Force. This video perfectly encapsulates the hurt and anger portrayed in the song, with a strong narrative, and pleasing visuals.

Tobler states that this video was a family affair, as the video itself was directed and filmed by their father, as well as their mother and brother working on graphics, concept, and securing location sites. This video hints at this nostalgia of losing a close friend at an early age, with shots from a childhood bedroom. There is no doubt this video will hit close to home upon giving it a watch.

Tobler describes the video as “the story of a close friend suddenly ending our friendship without warning. The video depicts me aggressively releasing the anger and hurt associated with this traumatic event.” It is clear through this new video that the visuals seamlessly connect with the themes of this track.

With influences such as Nirvana, Green Day, and Weezer, there is no doubt this new video will not leave banging your head in awe of AP Tobler’s honesty, and rawness throughout.

Red Devil Vortex Shares “Psycho” from the New EP Dark Secrets

Red Devil Vortex kicks off the year with a collection of heavy-hitting new songs for your radar. “Psycho” is the new single by Red Devil Vortex and the last of a series of singles that together complete the EP Dark Secrets, released via all digital outlets today.

From living in an RV on the streets of Hollywood to #16 on the Billboard Charts, Red Devil Vortex is not only the sonic result of life’s chaos and frustrations, but a statement of fighting for what you believe in.

“Psycho” is a fictional story based on the dark side often present in toxic relationships and it’s the last song created with the late producer Augustus Cryns (1989-2020), who’s also worked with the band in their first EP “Something Has To Die” (2018). The new EP, “Dark Secrets”, marks a transitional moment for the band with the joining of guitarist Luis Kalil as the new member. It’s set to be released on Feb 4th, 2022. Along with the original songs, it also features a version of “Mother”, originally by Danzig. – Red Devil Vortex

Though adapting to a new world of cultural shocks and real life challenges when moving from Curitiba, Brazil to Los Angeles, CA, lead singer / bassist Gabriel Connor and drummer Iago Marcondes were relentless and just getting louder. The band had its kickstart with the single “The Fallen” from 2016 followed by the EP Something Has To Die released in May of 2018. The EP hit the US Billboard charts in its first week at No #16 (Heatseekers Chart) and No #49 (Independent Albums Chart). It sold over 1,200 copies, both physical and digital downloads combined in its first week. “Something Has To Die” has reached over 340k Streams so far and with all songs combined, Red Devil Vortex has amassed over 600k Spotify streams to date. The release was produced by Augustus “Gus” Cryns (Butcher Babies, Anti-Flag).

In 2019 and 2020 the band headed back into the studio to record their sophomore EP, after the
departure of original guitarist Pablo Kravicz during the process. Going full steam ahead, Gabriel and lago managed to finish the record before another loss with the untimely death of their friend and producer Augustus during the pandemic lockdowns.

With the releases postponed Gabriel and Iago kept Red Devil Vortex alive, using the time to organically find the right guitarist, Luis Kalil, an award winning guitar prodigy based in Los Angeles who is also from Brazil. Kalil has recorded and performed with the likes of Steve Vai, Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), Kiko Loureiro & Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) among others.

With the new addition to the band, Luis recorded on the remaining tracks done with Augustus Cryns not only honoring the work they’ve done together before his passing, but giving a new meaning and creating a new chapter in the history of Red Devil Vortex.

For fans of Bad Wolves, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Ghost, and Rob Zombie, the band brings a raw and intricate sound to the table, as they create a sound that is uniquely their own.

On “Psycho” the music and lyrics were written by Red Devil Vortex and Augustus Cryns. It was produced by Augustus Cryns, mixed and mastered by Augustus Cryns and Adair Daufembach at Soundcheck Studios in North Hollywood, California.

The band is currently in the studio working on their first full length album with producer Adair Daufembach in Hollywood, CA. Following Dark Secrets, it will be released in the second half of 2022. Red Devil Vortex’s new album Dark Secrets is out now, which kicks off a high profile and exciting year for the band.

Dante Matas Goes the Distance on Latest Release

Dante Matas is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto with a unique brand of new wave bedroom pop, psychedelic folk, and lo-fi electronic music. His latest EP, Avoid Discipline (out Jan 21), brings hyper-melodic synth pop with a new wave twist. The title suggests letting go of perfectionism to allow things to take shape naturally.

Dante’s songs tend to have contemplative and introspective character to them, but never at the expense of a catchy melody. “Catching Up With You” is about the kind of person that gets away with mistreating and harming others just because of wealth or undeserved status. Optimistically, they will eventually have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Jessica Pearson Debuts Melodic New Release

Mixing country, celtic and folk music to create her own unique sound, she releases a freeing new album, On The Line (Willow Sound Records), about letting go of everything that no longer serves you to really embrace true happiness. “Coal” is about how the tiniest spark of light can bring hope to the darkness when we are feeling overpowered.

Noiseheads Reveal Rock Laced Video for “Big Money”

If bands like Foo Fighters, Weezer, and Pearl Jam are considered the last generation of guitar-based rock, then Noiseheads are the next generation’s exception. The trio has built a devoted and passionate underground following among fans of old-school garage rock. In the process, they attracted a lot of attention from many prominent figures in the music industry, sharing line-ups with the likes of Collective Soul, Fuel, K.Flay and The Psychedelic Furs.

Primed to spearhead the “new normal” of post-pandemic rock music, the band recorded “Big Money” with Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies), an energetic new single with a blazing sax solo by Chris Spies (Marcus King Band).
