Lemon Cash started out as a cover band, forming an alternative rock band with some local friends from their hometown of Ottawa, Ontario. Looking to evolve their music, Cory and Jeff found their sweet spot and transitioned into the country world where they would come to realize this is where their tastes and personalities fit best. 

The inspiration to switch to the country genre came from their parents: Jeff Sr. and Sandra. They introduced Jeff and Cory to country music at a very young age. Listening to a wide range of artists such as Patsy Cline, George Jones, George Strait, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks. These country legends became the inspiration for the brothers beginning to write and perform their own songs with their signature blend of harmonies and a tinge of their love of rock music thrown into the lemonade of Lemon Cash. We caught up with the group for an exclusive Video Voyageur below!

Tell us the story of this song, why did you choose to visualize this song specifically? 

We chose to visualize this song because it has such great energy. The message behind this song is to break out of that comfort zone and to do something that you’re not used to doing. The video is a representation of that message as it was our first show this summer where restrictions were lifted for having people come together for live music. It captures exactly the fun and the excitement we all had, and also the authenticity of our band.

What was the inspiration behind this video(visuals, storyline, etc.)? 

The inspiration behind this video was to get an up close and personal take on who we are as people and what to expect at a Lemon Cash show. We have footage of us taking pictures with fans, signing autographs, giving out drumsticks and just showing our sincere appreciation to everyone at our show.

We are immensely grateful for the support we have from our fans. We’d like to simply return the favour by giving them a reason to escape the real world, to dance, laugh and have an amazing time when they come and see us play. This video says it all.

What was the process of making this video?

The only process of this video was to make it as organic and natural as possible. We had a friend of ours walk around with a camera and capture real footage of us playing live and interacting with fans. This video is the perfect representation of who Lemon Cash is, what we’re like, and what to expect when you get to spend some time with us!
