The Strokes’ Angles Debuted At #4 On Billboard Charts

The Strokes’ fourth album Angles took a while to come but the bright side for them now is that people rushed to buy it out of excitement! The album has debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart with 88,000 copies sold in its first week. Success also came in other countries; it debuted #3 in the UK, #4 in Canada, and #1 in Australia.

Along with that came praise from – among others – Rolling Stone magazine, who called Angles “the best album that [The Strokes] have made since 2001’s Is This It“, and a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden on Friday April 1st… The Strokes are back!

Manchester Orchestra And Red Bull Team For Event

@IAmWesley favorite Manchester Orchestra is slowly marching to the release of their new album, Simple Math on May 10th. Last month, the five-piece released the album’s beautiful first single “Simple Math.” And, yesterday, they followed it up with the slightly more upbeat “April Fool.”

Red Bull, who debuted the track on their website, will unveil a unique live performance and interview with the band today at 5pm EST/2pm PST. Tune in to RedBullUSA.com/livesessions for the broadcast and join in conversation by replying to @redbullstudioLA. Include the hashtag #RBstudio.

Freelance Whales Team Up With Starbucks

Freelance Whales are having a pretty decent spring. Still riding positive buzz behind their debut album Weathervanes, the band has locked up a nation-wide tour with Foals and the Naked and Famous as well having their music land on a Starbucks commercial.

The commercial is actually not bad (for an ad) and you can watch it right here.

The band will re-release a deluxe version of its debut album on April 5th via iTunes. You can check them out on tour throughout April here:
