Woodpigeon Returns To The Skies

Calgary based Woodpigeon is set to emerge with the coming of autumn. The band recently released a new LP, entitled BALLADEER / to all the guys i’ve loved before on vinyl and digitally online, along with a new digital EP, Our Love is as Tall as the Calgary Tower.

Originally envisioned as a bonus CD, and  included with Woodpigeon’s critically acclaimed third album, Die Stadt Muzikanten, BALLADEER is comprised of twelve beautifully crafted and intimate songs features collaborations with England’s Beth Jeans Houghton, Montreal’s Witchies and Scotland’s Eagleowl.

Likewise, Our Love is as Tall As the Calgary Tower features a cover of Withered Hand’s “No Cigarettes”, remixes of “Empty-Hall Sing-Along” by Dead Edits and the title-track, “Our Love is as Tall as the Calgary Tower” by Montag, plus a brand new track, “Hove Beach”.

Currently on tour in Europe, Woodpigeon will return to their homeland of Canada for two shows next month. Find more info on those dates down below.

Miami Horror Release New Video


After touring both coasts and making stops in Chicago, Miami and Texas, Melbourne-based group Miami Horror have released a new video for their song “Echoplex.”

Shot on location in Syndey and directed by Cara Stricker, “Echoplex” comes from the band’s recently-released debut album, Illumination, which features contributions from Swedish singer MAI, Melbourne-based chanteuse Kimbra, Dappled Cities’ Tim Derricourt, and Neon Indian/Vega’s Alan Palomo.

Feist to Release ‘Reminder’ Documentary

fiestFeist may not be ready to debut some new music, but she is ready debut a new project.

With her latest album, 2007’s The Reminder, Feist had chronicled every single step of the recording process and the following tour. The result is the documentary Look at What the Light Did Now directed by Anthony Seck.

Look at What the Light Did Now will be premiered at Pop Montreal, September 29, followed by other screenings in October. Check out the trailer here.

The Return Of Adam Haworth Stephens

He’s back. Adam Haworth Stephens, the Folk/Rock singer songwriter from the band Two Gallants is back with a brand new solo album We Live On Cliffs. The album is due for release September todayth off Saddle Creek Records and is already building plenty of hype.

If you are a Two Gallants fan this album is definitely for you, in fact it almost seems as if it is a continuation of the bands previous work. With the same mesmerizing lyrics on top of similar folk influenced poppy beats, “We Live On Cliffs” provides fans with exactly what they want.

The first single of the album “The Cities That You’ve Burned” is available for free download off of Saddle Creek Records website.

Adam has also released a massive US tour with the Felice Brothers that is already underway.

Liars Head to Canada-And No, We’re Not Lying!

liarsThe American trio, Liars, might not need another visa stamp in their passports, but that’s not gonna stop them from going over to Canada with a new digital EP in tow.

It will be the first trip to Canada in three years for the dance-punk outfit and will even include a performance at Pop Montreal.
Their new EP Live At Shepherd’s Bush Empire will be exclusively released via iTunes on September 28th (hey thats today!). The EP will be the first new music that the band will release since their 2009 album Sisterworld. And coming in October, the band will release a new single Proud Evolution as its own single with six accompanying tracks.
Lve at Shepherds Bush Empire will be released on today, followed by Proud Evolution on October 19th.
