“Best Coast” is the newest single by LA-based artist Lauren Waller, set to be released on June 1st. Following the release of her last single “Night Stalker” in March, “Best Coast” is the next track to be included in Lauren’s already substantial discography of 2 EPs and multiple singles. This track begins with hard-hitting percussive and electronic elements that immediately capture the ears of its listener. Soon after, Lauren surprises us with spoken word verses reminiscent of early 2000s Kesha, and a sung chorus about the West [best] Coast and the charms of California.

This song is the perfect blend of modern and electronic-textured pop with electro-synths and a hard-edged beat that accompanies Lauren’s soulful vocals that have garnered her comparisons to pop icon Lorde and others. A track such as this one should be played on a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (or any highway, shoutout to the east coast) with the volume way up, and we have no doubt that listeners this summer will be doing just that.

Tell us the story of this song, why did you choose to visualize this song specifically in this way? 

Dawson Gamble’s passion for music began early. His father’s love of Blues and Classic Rock integrated with Hip Hop and RnB’s growing cultures intensified his interest in music. By picking up his dad’s 1979 Fender Strat guitar, he found his own love of soft Blues and Ballad rock which was further influenced by Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and Ed Sheeran. Dawson’s love for guitar playing and instrumentation led him to explore songwriting where he further discovered his passion for musicality and zest of flowing lyrics.

After performing with (now disbanded) The Chase, Dawson’s new track, “Everything About Me,” is the first offering of his solo project. A compilation of his dearest influences from over the years, the single’s upbeat vibe provides a stark yet tasteful contract to its edgy, sad lyrics.

Jorge Alejandro Carrillo Martínez, also known as JACE Carrillo, was born in Valencia, Venezuela and started singing at the age of 4. Since then, JACE has been developing his songwriting skills and studying singing, harmony, and music theory. JACE got into a Gospel choir (2009-2014) and performed around Venezuela. Gospel helped him explore new musical styles and closely follow other artists in what nowadays represents his R&B influences. His Latin influences also helped him create new fusions over the time, mixing the upcoming Urban Latin that was growing in the area.

His music career was affected by the political, economic and social situation, which led JACE to complete a degree in Industrial Engineering and he emigrated to Canada in 2015 to continue growing his musical projects and start writing songs for other artists.

JACE’s first song was officially released in 2019 which he followed with a few additional tracks and collaborations. He will be releasing his debut EP this summer and is leading with a new single called “French Vanilla” which showcases JACE’s R&B influence.

Songstress Alex Winters is on a high with the release of her latest track “Return to Sender.” A pleasant surprise for this year amongst all the craziness going on, Alex carries a heavenly song that sets the tone for hopefully, more music to come this year. The track is the follow up to her past release “Hearts on Fire,” which was unleashed late last year. Since then, Alex Winters has honed her signature sound even more so, as she takes her songwriting and performing to a whole new level.

“I woke up one morning with my ex heavy on my mind, wanting to know if he was happy. We’ve been separated for many years but I still wonder how he is from time to time. So I stalked him on Facebook for an hour and a half just looking through all of his pictures, his new wife’s pictures, their posts about each other trying to get an answer. That night I sat down and wrote this song. I don’t know if you can really get an accurate picture of someone’s happiness from social media, but it made me feel better to see him smiling in pictures with her and doing some of the things he’d always talked about doing.”
