Beats Antique Head Out On The Road

Combining string quartets and dubstep is not an easy task, but Beats Antique somehow pulls it off. The trio have been around for three years, hammering out three albums and a couple EP’s in that short span. Beats Antique released their latest album Blind Threshold this fall.

Now the band has announced a new U.S tour that has them pounding the pavement for the next couple months. Beats Antique also mentioned something about a SXSW appearance that I’m sure they will touch on sometime soon.

You can see this fusion of dubstep and world-roots in action…

The Luyas Offer Up New Album Title Track, “Too Beautiful To Work”

Listen: The Luyas: "Too Beautiful to Work"

The Luyas’ debut album, Too Beautiful To Work, will be out on Dead Oceans on February 22nd. It will feature Owen Pallett as well as Arcade Fire’s Sara Neufeld. The Canadians, however, have already made the LP’s title track available to download over on Pitchfork. “Too Beautiful To Work” sounds deceivingly simple with Jessie Stein’s soft high-pitched voice but the music and lyrics form a never ending whirlwind of layers that make this title track really interesting. You can download the track HERE.

The Acrylics Release A New Video

New York duo The Acrylics recently released a video from their new album, which will be on shelves very shortly.

The song “Nightwatch” is off of the band’s approaching release Lives and Treasure. The album will be here March 1 via Friendly Fire Recordings/Hot Sand Records.

The pair will be touring its way down to SXSW in support of the new album, and you can check out the video right here. It features a really spooky house/barn combo (?) and a downright scary horse. Enjoy!
