Allison’s Invention Readies New Album

Already up for an Emmy for her work on the movie 5,000 Miles From Home, Allison’s Invention (real name Allison Tartalia) just put out a full-length album.

Fusing elements of jazz, soul, and rock, Sweet and Vicious is hard to pin down, and according to critics extremely hard to stop listening to.

The album was produced by Michael Leonhart (of Steely Dan and Lenny Kravitz fame) and will be released July 27th. That same day, Allison’s Invention will host a CD release show at Sullivan Hall in New York.

You can hear a sample of Allison’s Invention right here.

The Trews Head North With The American Badass

Hard-rocking Canadians The Trews have just kicked off a foot-stomping tour of Canada with fellow rocker (and Bourbon conniesseuer) Kid Rock.

The group is rapidly drawing attention for their subtle balance between catchy pop and gruff hard rock. Besides a Canadian conquest, the group will also be tearing up (sonically) New York, playing a batch of shows near the end of June.

The Most Serene Republic In Their Early Days

Now The Most Serene Republic want to share their early work with the world. The album Pre Serene: Thee Oneironauts will be out on the band’s own label, Home of the Rebels.

You can catch a glimpse of what the album will hold with the song “Zoltar Speaks”, right here. The song was of course inspired by the famous magician from the movie Big. Look for Pre Serene: Thee Oneironauts available May 24th.
