Gayngs’ Tour Bus Drama

Gayngs had something of a dramatic close to their recent U.S. tour.

The band was supposed to finish their tour schedule with a triumphant stop at Austin City Limits, but it was not to be.

Instead, last Saturday the band learned that their tour bus (and all their instruments) had been stolen! The band reported it to the police and waited anxiously.

It was later discovered that the bus had not actually been stolen, but instead had been repossessed.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the bus was snatched by the company that rented them, CJ Star Buses. Reportedly Gayngs owed $6,000.

Gayngs had this to say, via Justin Vernon’s blog.

“While it is totally ‘Gayngs’ to not pay bills… we were given no warning of our gear being taken and it was absolutely our every intention to pay our bill. Matter of fact, me and Lewis just paid it. In person.”

The band gets their stuff back, but were “insanely bummed” to miss Austin City Limits. Let’s hope they make it out again next year.

Rival Schools Release New Video

Rival Schools have been hard at work on a shiny new album, which they are calling Pedals. The group took a break from touring with Gaslight Anthem to record a music video off of Pedals for your viewing pleasure.

Although it’s been almost a decade since Rival Schools released their influential debut United By Fate the music video shows that the band as been focused on tightening their sound and improving.

You can find Pedalsfor sale this March (the 8th, actually) on Photo Finish/Atlantic Records.

Catch the first video for the song “Shot After Shot” right here.

Tape The Radio Plan New Single

Tape The Radio have impressed several big names in music with their hard work and shining musicianship, and now their hard work is starting to pay off.

The band jumped into the music biz by releasing their first single “Save A Life” the old fashion way…by themselves. The band hand-made the packaging, numbered the discs and shipped them off.

Next the band enlisted the help of famed producer Alan Moulder (The Killers, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine) after the producer met frontman Malcolm Carson hand-delivering demos to his studio in London.

Now the group is ready to release another single (this time, preferably with some help from label Hi Tone Music). “Our Love Is A Broken Heart” will be out as a 7-inch and a digital download on November 1st. Luckily for you, you can hear these fast-rising rockers right here first.

Major Lazer’s New Video Is Amazing

null

Major Lazer is kind of different. Maybe the second or third most popular cartoon musician on the planet (Gorrilaz and Dethklok being the other two), he makes even other cartoon seem normal by comparison.

According to Mad Decent, Lazer’s record label, Lazer is a Jamaican commando who fought in the “secret Zombie War of 1984” and lost both arms in combat.

His newest video only gets cooler and way weirder. Born from the song “Perculator” by the artist Cajmere, the remixed version is called “Percumajor.”

Along with a thumping beat and awesome effects, the video shows you all sorts of awesome stuff animated in a very distinct way.

The video has…(in no particular order) dinosaurs getting shot with lasers, a dog in a suit, one of those furry things from Gremlins (and an actual Gremlin). If any (or all…probably all) of those things sound awesome, you can watch the video right here!
