Safeword Deliver “Food For Something Else

Safeword is four friends from Dartmouth and Halifax, NS who bring honest, often danceable indie pop-rock to your ears. The band calls itself basement music therapy because – formed just prior to the pandemic – Safeword’s basement rehearsals and songwriting sessions got its members through two years of pandemic and loss.

The band’s triumphant new single, “Food For Something Else,” is about wrestling with how to not waste your life in a desperate attempt to retain your youth. The song starts out softly before crashing in and unraveling into a wailing guitar solo – all set to a rhythm you could junior-high dance to.
