“This song deals with all the choices we make but that kills us slowly. Being overconnected but the same way, far from the reality, makes us live in a fake world. “Blindness” deals with its fake reality of life through social media, and the importance people give to it, so involved in this “mental prison”. When we’re on the web, we see the world through our screen, thinking we can understand everything, but it’s like watching another world, where reality is polished and transformed.”

 – Insolvency

About Insolvency:

Insolvency is a Metalcore band that can pick and choose from different styles and genres to create a sound uniquely their own. The band have appeared at various festivals across Europe, smashing stages with the likes of Shining, OTEP, Decapitated, Napoleon, No Return, Smash it Combo, Atlantis chronicles, FRCTRD. In 2015, guitarist Bruno Blackstard was selected to play alongside Children of Bodom maestro Alexi Laiho in Helsinki during the 100guitarsfromhel Festival.

After a self released EP, the band hit the studio to record their debut album “Antagonism Of The Soul” in the UK with Jim Pinder and Carl Bown (Bullet For My Valentine, While She Sleeps, Machine Head). The result is a whirlwind of Blackstard & Valentin Gondouin’s elastic guitar work, soaring melodies and drummer Mickaël Tamario’s frantic assault; all pinned together by the double vocal barrage of Gondouin & bassist Pierre Challouet.

Insolvency first started to garner media attention with their music video “Antagonism Of the Soul” which exclusively premiered with Metal Hammer. This track was featured also on Metal Hammer’s Sound Of Metal Compilation of April 2018. The band started 2018 with a French tour followed by gigs in Poland, Belgium and a UK Tour. They closed their first chapter by playing at Hellfest 2019 and since then the band has been dedicated to songwriting, recording, and producing their new album Illusional Gates. The World Appears the Same, But Things Have Changed in “Every Passing Mile”

Christian Parker is a seasoned singer songwriter, recording artist and guitarist from Canton, New York, United States. His new single, taken from the album of the same title, “Every Passing Mile” is a beautiful, emotional song with wistful lyrics and a haunting electric guitar hook.

Parker has been recording music for the last thirty years. Notably, his songs center around themes of the stories of others he knows, as well as the things that we all deal with. Worries, trials, successes, tribulations. The ever-changing ups and downs of life.

“Every Passing Mile” is the story of a relationship now gone. With the passing of time, the feelings for a love gone become more haunting, more memorable in some ways. There is a lovely bridge with the electric guitar, and a lilting chorus that complements Parker’s vocals.

Although melancholic and written with minor chords, this song has an uplifting chorus. There is rhythm, a unique sound to the electric guitar, and an overall musical sound that is profoundly memorable.

“The Last Dream Ever Made” is a Powerful Telling for Those Who Feel Alone and Lost within the Perils of Bullying

Saint Mars comes from the musical minds of Marc Darcange and Angelo Bruschini, the lead guitarist of Massive Attack. They are driven by not only their musicality and creativity, but also Marc’s own experiences with bullying as a child. They released their first EP in 2017, which drew lots of press and worldwide attention. Everything changed in 2017 when they met Tryzdin Grubbs of Ohio, who they discovered through his viral video of Adele’s “Hello.” Hand picked by Marc Darcange, he and Tryzdin share a similar story of bullying, which made their connection a match made in heaven.

Their newest single, “The Last Dream Ever Made,” features Tryzdon’s powerful and beautiful vocals. The song is a pop synthwave track with a big Depeche Mode vibe. “This is a song I had in me since I started making music and the fact that it has finally been given birth thanks to the voice of a young teen of the generation Z sharing the same footprint of social problems has for me a meaning beyond words,” says Marc. The song means a lot to him and the group as a whole. While the song is inspired by the feelings of isolation and outcasted, it’s more about finding the light in the dark, the strength in the sadness, and not giving up no matter the circumstances. It’s a reminder that you will come out the other side.

Listen to “The Last Dream Ever Made” here:

Tryzdin shares what this song means to him: “Music is a passion and something I want to share with the world, and something I am so proud to be doing with Saint Mars! ‘The Last Dream Ever Made’ is so powerful and really truly captures what music is all about. Music is about being different, stepping out of your comfort zone, and BEING YOU. Don’t be like anyone else, do what your heart tells you to do. Love yourself and be confident.”

American Darlings Take Over The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on 11/18

AFTERGLOW is the latest album from Brooklyn’s American Darlings. Released at the end of last year, the group can now properly celebrate with a homecoming show in New York this Thursday 11/18 at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.
Recorded in three studios with three drummers, including Brian Ossip and Daniel Vincent, over the past three years by Tommy Cormier at Greenpoint Recording Collective, Jeff Berner at Studio G Brooklyn and demo tapes at Stanhope Cellar Studio, this more evolved, psychedelic-infused collection is not quite a swansong and not quite a rebirth after a decade of American Darlings. Think of it as the aptly titled, Afterglow.

Catchfiyah: Discovering Your New Favorite Electrifying Duo

Catchfiyah is an electronic duo based out of Toronto, Ontario, consisting of Lauren Barnett and Demetrios Petsalakis. Blending world beats with house and EDM, they weave social commentary with creative storytelling and hypnotic rhythms.
Their new track, “Now I Don’t Mind,” is a high energy, melodic dance track that discusses the ability to find your voice and stand up for yourself by taking ownership of your choices — regardless of how others may feel about them.

The group shares:

We’re Catchfiyah, a Canadian electronic duo based out of Toronto. Our new single, “Now I Don’t Mind” is about standing up for yourself by taking ownership of your choices, regardless of how others may feel about them. It’s available now in conjunction with the release of our second EP, Price to Pay.

“Now I Don’t Mind” tells the story of a time when I felt trapped into saying ‘yes’ and I came to the realization that I have the power within me to say ‘no’. For the video, we had the opportunity to work with Taiowa Butenschoen who used projections and 3D animation to capture the energy of the music.

Vikki Gilmore Unveils Bold New Single

Inspired by everyday life and the vast intricacies of being human, Montreal-based indie-folk artist Vikki Gilmore’s empathic insight and wisdom beyond her years resonate in her songs. By drawing on authentic experiences, she crafts meaningful narratives that ring tenderly relatable, backed by soulful, generally acoustic instrumentation.

New single, “Little Red,” is inspired by the story of Little Red Riding Hood but with a twist. What if the fable was written as an empowering song instead? What if the girl was tired of the wolf’s predatory behavior and decided to set a trap? From there, Gilmore visualized a Wild West saloon-style face-off and decided to go in a country-folk/Americana direction for the lyrics, genre, and production.
