Band of Horses Hit Up Austin City Limits

Band Of Horses played Austin City Limits this past October as part of the Austin City Limits festival. The performance was recorded and now has a date to air.

You can see the Grammy-nominated band on January 15th on local PBS stations. The performance is one of the last to be played on the original Austin City Limits stage and features material from all three of the band’s albums: Cease To Begin, Everything All The Time, and the Grammy-nominated Infinite Arms.

Look for Band of Horses on ACL this January. In case you haven’t heard this song (it’s been everywhere) enjoy.

New Tracks From Young Man

This past week saw the release of some new music from Colin Caulfield and his band Young Man.  The tracks are part of the single called “Strangers” which was an outtake from the band’s Boy EP which was released earlier this year.  Although Boy was released earlier this year on Frenchkiss Records, “Strangers” was not recorded until recently.

“Strangers” premiered on My Old Kentucky Blog recently, and Web site I Guess I’m Floating featured the song’s remix, done by NY-based remixer Phil Tortoroli, also known as The Great Red Shark, last Tuesday.  Young Man also debuted the video for the song “Up So Fast”, a lovely song about the joys of growing up, on AOL Spinner.

You can check out “Strangers” here.

BRAIDS Premiere New Single and Mixtape

braids

Montreal based band BRAIDS are revving up for their debut album early next year with “Plath Heart”, their new single and a mixtape called Yours Truly. The eclectic band is a quartet of best friends that decided to unite for the power of music, and the result is a playful yet serious study of alternative pop music led by a female voice. You can check out “Plath Heart” here. Their upcoming LP release is called “Native Speaker”, but you can catch them live while BRAIDS tour North America next year.

Sin Fang Bous Release Cover EP

sinfang

Sin Fang, also known as Sindri Mår Sigfússon or half of the band Seabear, is prepping for the release of his new LP Summer Echoes. His solo project is an eerie mix of acoustic piano and guitar and an elfish sound, almost as if it was some sort of psychedelic pop. In order to prep the world for his music, Sin Fang is releasing a limited run 7-inch that includes two covers: Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and Simon and Garfunkel’s “Only Living Boy in New York”. You can check out a video of Sin Fang on the piano singing Landslide below.
