Sorry Carlos D. – Interpol Finds a New Bass Player, Reveals Album Title

Our altered photo of Pajo with Interpol

It’s been nearly a month since the famed Carlos D. has left creepy indie rockers, Interpol. Today the announcement came that David Pajo will be replacing him in the band.

Pajo, if you can recall, has played alongside Billy Corgan in Zwan, and has played in the band Slint. He’s also been busy in the meantime recording his own work and working with the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Stereolab just to name a few.

In other Interpol news, the band just released the title of their new album which is due out in Mid-September. The name of it you ask? Well it’s a self titled one. Yes, it will be called Interpol. Pajo will make his first appearance with the band at the end of the summer when the band starts to play shows in support of the new record, and in support of U2. That is a wierd combination, I’m sorry.

  1. i agree — interpol + u2 makes no sense to me. do they even share a single fan?

    • Haha I know right?! I doubt Interpol is going to appeal to diehard U2 fans. If Paul Banks and Bono start doing on stage duets, I’m not sure what I’ll do.
