While Tadgh draws inspiration from the punk rock ethos, he is far from merely emulating the frustrated sound of the past. Instead, he adds his own unique perspective to the conversation, filtering it through a modern lens. The result is a sonic journey that seamlessly weaves together elements of noisy hardcore, math-y punk, and ethereal layers of sound. From the brash and aggressive to the sublimely atmospheric, “sit and wait” is a relentless and rousing ride that demands attention.

Tadgh’s immersive artistry is rooted in deep introspection and fueled by a diverse range of influences. His musicality spans across post-punk, goth, noisy hardcore, and math-y punk, drawing inspiration from iconic acts like Bauhaus, Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, Joy Division, Nirvana, and Radiohead. Additionally, he finds inspiration in the current wave of Irish bands such as Fontaines D.C., The Murder Capital, Gilla Band, and Just Mustard, infusing his music with a contemporary edge.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Tadgh is a multi-talented artist who has ventured into various creative realms. As an actor, writer, and director, he explores different avenues of expression, while also working as a composer for theater productions. His classical singing abilities have earned him accolades, and he recently contributed his powerful vocals to the title track of the award-winning film “Vicky,” a documentary that resonated with audiences and critics alike.

“Sit and wait” stands as a powerful anthem of frustration and a call to action in a world where hypocrisies abound. Tadgh Billy King’s musical prowess and unfiltered approach deliver a cathartic and thought-provoking experience that is sure to resonate with those seeking a sonic escape from the mundane. The Debut EP from Métis singer Indigo V is Hard to Resist

Toronto born and bred, Métis songstress Indigo V makes a bold entrance with debut EP Attitude, celebrating her duality of sweet and spicy. Produced by JUNO Award winning producers, Lantz (Jazz Cartier) and David Ariza (Charmaine), this collection exudes a playful sauciness that’s hard to resist.

Indigo V invites you into her world with a distinct voice and addictive hooks. Often underestimated for her innocent demeanor, she bites back in the EP’s title track. She takes the listener from featherlight soprano vocals to sultry, punchy tones mastering sonic dynamics making for an enticing four-song experience; and visualizes confidence in the captivating, choreographed video.

Fusing her musical roots in pop with her love of hip hop and R&B, her songs bounce with lyrical precision and hip swaying beats, telling stories of passionate encounters, lovers, heartbreaks and inner resilience.

Good Dear Good need a little more than “Coffee and Sunshine” on hard days

Originally bearing roots in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Good Dear Good brings their East Coast heritage to their name. Commonly known as a greeting on the Cape Breton coast, “good dear good” is a simple response to “how are ya?” that emulates the kindness and lighthearted aura each member puts out into the world.

And that’s what this band is – good. Their vibrant and emotional lyrics on top of harmonious indie-pop/rock melodies really shine through the darkness.

Coffee and Sunshine” was inspired by Tim Hatcher’s first real run in with mental health issues and the struggle of getting help when you need it most. He was 19 and struggling with numerous mental health issues that he could not tackle on his own anymore. When he eventually decided to reach out for help, he called a mental health line for assistance and was put on a waitlist to see a doctor as soon as possible. He didn’t hear from them until almost 7 months later.

The title “Coffee and Sunshine” represents remedies people use for a regular pick-me-up in their day to day – a way to get back on track if you’re feeling off or down. In many cases, those simple remedies just don’t cut it anymore. Proper help is needed, and it’s frustrating that there is a shortage of professionals who are available when you need them most.

Good Dear Good are launching their celebratory self-produced debut EP, Arrival, in June 2023 with mixing and additional production by John Mullane (AKA Future Dad). Themes of finding your people — the ones you hold near and dear, persevering through mental health struggles amongst a broken system, and resilience are what make up Good Dear Good’s upcoming record.

Pop-punk band GROWERS are reflecting on life’s regrets with “17 Cigarettes”

GROWERS are a four-piece pop punk band from Toronto, Canada, known for their upbeat original material and high energy live shows.

Their song “17 Cigarettes” was inspired by the struggle of getting older, especially in your late teen years. Transitioning from being a kid, to having a bit more responsibility and independence is tough. Having a moment to contemplate these thoughts over a cigarette break is what the song is about.

As you’re taking a long drag, maybe you’re thinking about all the important choices you have ahead of you – where you might go to school, if you’ll find work, and what sort of impact those choices will have on the course of your life. It’s hard not to think about potential regrets, and how much you will eventually change as the years pass by.

In support of their upcoming CRYBABY EP, GROWERS will be heading back on tour throughout the summer of 2023, consisting of dates in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton, and Guelph. GROWERS will also be performing at NXNE and CMW 2023.

Hamilton Dreamgaze Band Basement Revolver Share Existential New Track “Tired”

In 2020, the world stopped but Basement Revolver never really did: songs were written and recorded, a band member left, and another came to replace them. But, they couldn’t tour or rehearse or record in the usual way. The gap between making work, and being alone, resulted in serious introspection for the band. The songs they wrote were full of the tension in a world that is shut down, but which expects productivity. This resulted in a deeper understanding of what kind of message the band wanted to present, and which stories they wanted to tell. The result was 2022’s Embody — and now its counterpart, Embody Live (out June 9, 2023 on Sonic Unyon).

“Tired,” the first single to be shared ahead of Embody Live’s release, is about co-lead Chrisy Hurn’s existential fatigue and significant life changes – leaving the church and religion they grew up in, the community and family that came with it and their understanding of who they’re supposed to be.
