Alok, The Chainsmokers, and Mae Stephens team up on all-star collaboration ‘Jungle.’

The official music video for “Jungle” explores a new vision of the human experience through the eyes of outsiders. The clip follows three shapeshifting androids who crashland on earth through a lake and are chased by boats and guards. Fighting for survival with the universal instinct shared with animals in the jungle, they find safety by blending in with a crowd at a music festival and transforming into others around them. Through their various paths, they each experience different human emotions and pleasures. Featuring performances by ALOK, The Chainsmokers, and Mae Stephens and filmed onsite at IleSoniq Music Festival in Montreal, the live action music video delivers a captivating cinematic experience to accompany the all-star musical collaboration.

“Jungle has been in the works with The Chainsmokers for over a year now and I’m glad we finally found the right mixture. The addition of Mae was a perfect fit and the response we got premiering it at Tomorrowland in Belgium told us we were on to something special. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the final product and to perform it all over the world.” – ALOK

Coming off a massive summer tour, his latest chart topping release “Car Keys” with global pop sensation Ava Max, its official remix by dance music legend Tiësto, and his recent birthday celebration performance labeled “The Show of the Century” at the iconic Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro for a record-breaking crowd, ALOK continues pushing boundaries in the dance music community, paving the way for even more mind-blowing performances and opportunities in the future. The #1 most-listened-to Brazilian artist in the world on Spotify and #1 DJ in Latin America recently traveled to New York to host his second annual Future Is Ancestralclimate change event at the United Nations headquarters with multiple panels, speakers, and a performance of his upcoming album featuring indigenous Amazonian artists on the UN rooftop. In May 2023 Alok was honored with a prestigious award at the Better World Fund Gala during the Cannes Film Festival for his charity work with his Alok Institute in conjunction with the Amazônia Fund Alliance program for the Brazilian Federation of UNESCO.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be collaborating with Alok and Mae respectively. We have been friends and following Alok’s work for years and always admired his shows and have been trying to find the right record for over 4 years. We were both picky because we wanted to make a record we could both perform at the biggest shows but also something that lent itself to a fan outside of the festivals. Mae is also just a brilliant up and coming artist and she absolutely nailed the vocal. Hopefully like Alok we will have 1,000,000 ppl at our future shows thanks to this collaboration.” – The Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers have consistently elevated popular music by ceaselessly challenging it. The GRAMMY® Award-winning RIAA Diamond-certified duo—Drew Taggart and Alex Pall—have broken boundaries between pop, indie, electronic, alternative, and rock. Thus far, they have scored three Diamond singles, namely the Billboard Hot 100 #1 “Closer” [feat. Halsey], “Something Just Like This” [with Coldplay], and “Don’t Let Me Down” [feat. Daya]. The latter garnered a GRAMMY® Award for “Best Dance Recording.” Their 2017 full-length debut, Memories…Do Not Open, notably bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 and paved the way for the gold-certified Sick Boy[2018] and gold-certified World War Joy [2019]. Both albums were followed by 40+ city sold out arena tours. At the same time, Drew and Alex give back at every turn. In the midst of the Global Pandemic, Drew and Alex funded the production and delivery of tens of thousands of PPE N95 masks to hospitals in New York and Las Vegas. The charity Youth Emerging Stronger recognized The Chainsmokers with the “Key of Hope Award” for their commitment to philanthropy and underprivileged children.

“I never imagined I would be working with the Chainsmokers and ALOK this time last year. As a starting artist I never imagined anything like this would happen. But they are so kind and it has been so awesome to be a part of this song and the video! The guys are amazing and performing with them was one of the best moments of my life.” – Mae Stephens

Mae Stephens, an English singer and songwriter from Northamptonshire, England, continues to rise due to her breathtaking vocals and catchy songs. Dubbed TikTok’s Global #1 Song of the Summer for her single, “If We Ever Broke Up,” which has amassed over 200 million streams and has gone viral on TikTok numerous times, Mae Stephens has already proven that she has the talent to make it big in the industry. In addition to a various number of remixes of “If We Ever Broke Up,” Stephens also recently collabed with Megan Trainor on her latest single “Mr Right,” which has also become notable on TikTok and has reached an impressive 5 million streams already. With “Mr Right” and “Jungle” under her belt, Stephens has proven that she can not only make a killer track by herself, but that she also has the ability to attract many famous artists due to her overall talent and potential. Stephens still has a long way to go in her music career, but with this latest collab, Stephens is sure to skyrocket even higher to the top.

George Collins Goes Above and Beyond with Thoughtful New Single “Stop the Sun”

“Stop the Sun” holds deep personal significance for George Collins, encapsulating a universal theme of family and the inexorable passage of time. It resonates with anyone who reaches a certain age, prompting reflections on their childhood and the endless days of youth, juxtaposed with the fleeting moments of the present.

The inspiration for the song emerged from George’s childhood visions of the biblical tale of Joshua halting the sun to secure a pivotal victory for the Israelites. In his mind’s eye, he saw this formidable warrior atop a hill, arms outstretched toward the sun. As he neared his 60th birthday, this imagery returned, accompanied by the realization that it had taken a lifetime to begin comprehending the intricate game of life. He yearned for another sixty years to fully live out the wisdom he had acquired and wished to suspend time, savoring every remaining moment.

The song’s bridge draws from a beloved phrase by George’s cherished author, Mark Twain, who asserted that “The two most important days in life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” This sentiment perfectly aligns with the concept of discovering one’s life purpose but desiring more time to fulfill it.

George Collins’s introspective and courageously vulnerable songwriting has already touched the hearts of many. His compositions are brimming with insightful narratives, influenced by his roles as a screenwriter and novelist, infused with empathy, hard-won wisdom, and catchy pop melodies.

George received his first guitar at the tender age of four and immediately embarked on his songwriting journey. He diligently pursued both guitar and piano throughout his formative years and beyond. In his late twenties, he observed older musicians grappling with dissatisfaction, falling into destructive habits involving alcohol and drugs. Determined to chart a different course for his life and yearning for an international music career, George explored alternative avenues.

However, in 2012, a pivotal moment arrived when George became a father at the age of 50. He made the life-altering decision to step away from his lucrative 20-year career as an investment consultant and financial executive, choosing to nurture his creative world and embrace the role of a dedicated full-time parent.

“I Got You”: Is A Sonic Manifesto of Empowerment by Shanice

Hitmakers Entertainment Shanice "I Got You" a still from her video.

“I Got You” is an invigorating synth-pop anthem that champions the virtues of self-confidence and self-worth. “The song is designed to infuse listeners with a sense of vitality and fortitude,” says Shanice.

Discussing the genesis of “I Got You,” Shanice reveals, “The song materialized in a mere 15-20 minutes. As Mark was crafting the beat, I found myself awash with inspiration. The melody and lyrics flowed effortlessly. It‘s a sonic manifesto of empowerment and self-worth. The song’s creation was “very natural and very quick because the whole song made so much sense from the very beginning.”

“I Got You” is more than just a catchy tune; it’s a rallying cry for self-confidence and the audacity to be your own spotlight. “The message of empowerment and feeling confident without drawing attention to yourself,” Shanice explains.

“Musically, “I Got You” is a genre-blending marvel, straddling the lines between Pop, and Synth Pop. It’s a track that refuses to be boxed in, much like Shanice herself.. So, if you’re looking for a song that not only gets your foot tapping and your booty shaking but also lights a fire in your soul, “I Got You” is your anthem,” she shares.

Her vocal timbre is a compelling blend of Ariana Grande’s robust range and a slight hint of Billie Eilish’s ethereal tones which complements the track’s uplifting message. And BONUS there’s a Portuguese version up on her Spotify!

At the tender age of 4, she wrote her first song and at 14, Shanice showcased her prodigious talent on the German version of the global television phenomenon, The Voice Kids. Competing against a formidable pool of over 2,000 vocalists, she emerged as the runner-up, signaling her undeniable promise.

Following her high school years, Shanice earned a scholarship to Hurtwood House, an elite performing arts boarding school in Surrey, England. The institution boasts an illustrious alumni network, featuring luminaries such as Emily Blunt and Hans Zimmer. During her tenure at Hurtwood House, Shanice honed her skills in music and performance while continuing to compose and record her original works.

Upon graduation, she furthered her musical education at Leeds Conservatoire, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pop Music. It was here that she crossed paths with Mark Feist, the renowned producer behind industry giants like Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend. Recognizing her exceptional talent, Feist and Hitmakers Entertainment promptly signed her upon her graduation and “I Got You” is released on his LA-based Hitmakers Entertainment label.

Portland Noise Pop Duo Zeroz Turn Sadboy Tears into the Ultimate Anthem on Anime-Inspired New Single/Video

It’s not too often that we associate face-melting guitar crunch with crying fits, but Zeroz (FKA Butterfly) aren’t like other bands. The Portland duo marries the sugar-rush pop hooks and guitar riffs of ‘90s alt-rock with modern hyperpop sensibilities and, well… sadboy tears.

If The Breeders and Pinback had a baby inside a battered computer server that developed a serious case of the feels and binge-watched anime from within its own internal eye, it might sound something like Zeroz.

Frontman / bandleader Aidan Christopher Haughey (who goes simply by Z, his character name in the Zeroz universe) explains:

When I first started writing “Monster E-Girl,” I’d just finished watching the anime series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (AKA DanMachi), which I really, really liked, so I was crying a bunch. And I kept crying every time I’d listen to the song as I was putting it together, which has never happened. I’ve been working on it for almost a year, which I’ve never done for any other song. It’s just a really intense song. Plus, I cry more over anime than over anything else.

The other songs on the album have a more clear lyrical and thematic intent, but this one’s more ambiguous. It may sound corny, but in anime there’s a lot of forgiveness and sacrifice and people ovecoming their differences to make something better, even if the people are flawed. I’m not a total pessimist or anything, but the fact that you can see these worlds where you have these complex characters where lots of fucked-up things happen, but ultimately a lot of these characters sacrifice themselves. That touches me because, I mean, it sure would be nice to live in a world like that!

Lol is out October 19th!

Jason Vitelli Debuts Sonically Alluring Single “SNAZZY CATS”

Brooklynite musician Jason Vitelli brings some style to your stereo in his first instrumental single
“SNAZZY CATS.” The 10th track off of his upcoming album 1. Ambient Corridors, the tune is dedicated to his former cat on premises Momma. With a funky guitar strum, clarinet crescendos and electronic effects, SNAZZY CATS provides the perfect accompaniment to the modern evolving world. You could perhaps say he is embracing AI. “I am drawn to the combination of synthetic and real elements. Interaction between human and programmed performances can create something entirely new.”

Having already made his mark with three lyrically rich singer-songwriter albums, it might appear paradoxical that Brooklyn-based musician Jason Vitelli’s latest endeavor showcases his music without words. However, as he points out, 1. Ambient Corridors marks his debut instrumental collection, signaling a return to his musical origins.

Although his electronic toolkit from the “turn of the century” may have been more limited compared to the expansive software libraries available today, Jason Vitelli’s creative genius and compositional skill shone brightly. This brilliance was evident in his orchestration, original sampling, and sound design.

Across a tapestry of 12 tracks, he artfully blended acoustic instruments such as cello, viola, piano, electric guitar, and a variety of woodwinds with his electronic manipulation of found objects, crafting an impressionistic auditory voyage. As he aptly puts it, “I’m drawn to the fusion of synthetic and organic elements. The interplay between human and programmed performances has the potential to give birth to something entirely novel.”

A riveting entry point into Jason Vitelli’s oeuvre, SNAZZY CATS is a jewel of sonic delicacies. Its funky flow brings flavor to our ears, rolling us down the lane to his upcoming instrumental album 1. Ambient Corridors.

Carefree bass spoons a buttery guitar tone, whilst a juicy mid-tempo groove rounds out the palate. You’ll find the tune to be the perfect accompaniment to a stroll through Central Park. . “I find tactile elements in my music reveal themselves while watching the city throb around us.”

Let “SNAZZY CATS” envelope you in wonderment as you pass by throngs of tourists

AY Young Delivers Insightful Message with “Goals”

There’s something to be said about the power of being called to make music. But when that power combines with an unshakeable mission to change the world, what you get is the tour de force known as AY Young. To simply label AY Young as an emerging hip-pop artist and multifaceted talent would be an immense understatement. AY embodies the roles of singer, songwriter, entertainer, producer, and entrepreneur, among others, and his daily efforts contribute to the ongoing global transformation.

A UN-recognized sustainability advocate and Champion of the Sustainable Development Goals who’s devoted his music to activism since his teens, AY launches the next phase of his Battery Tour with a historic renewable-powered concert on September 21st in Times Square, New York City.

With more than 900 performances under its belt, AY’s globe-spanning Battery Tour has pioneered a unique approach to live music. This global concert series is powered entirely by renewable energy and is more than just an entertainment event, it seamlessly blends the musical experience with education, community upliftment, and humanitarian initiatives.

With international cooperation, the Battery Tour has revolutionized musical performance by introducing collaborative solutions to the global energy crisis. To advance his cause, AY has forged partnerships with corporate brands like Samsung, General Motors and BNP Paribas and civil society organizations like the UN Joint SDG Fund, Global Resilience Partnership, National Wildlife Federation, We Don’t Have Time, New Use Energy, Sauntr, Plastic Pollution Coalition, Ideas for Us, Faraday Foundation and Clever Carbon.

It’s not difficult to see why: “GOALS” bumps with a sense of hope that’s impossible to resist.

“This song,” says AY, “stands as an anthem, a sonic force that ignites the enthusiasm within you, regardless of the challenges or aspirations you face. It not only pumps up your spirits, but also commemorates the resilient essence of humanity, underscoring the significance of believing in the trajectory you chart. Life can be fleeting and fragile, but if you believe in yourself it can be something wonderful and powerful!” Full context on “GOALS” from AY below.

As much as AY’s music rouses a feeling of duty towards our collective stewardship of the earth, he also understands that hope is the greatest motivator. It also doesn’t hurt to have one of the year’s catchiest hooks in your back pocket — which could just as easily be said about previous single “2030.”

“GOALS” is the title track from AY’s forthcoming EP. The EP sets the stage for AY’s upcoming full-length album Project 17, which features a track dedicated to each of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
