LiYON Unveils Electro-Laced “Back It Up”

LiYON began his career as a full-time songwriter and producer in 2010, making music for films, ads and other artists. After years behind the scenes in Toronto and Los Angeles, and winning a Gemini award along the way, he returned to his hometown of Montreal. That’s when he started making music as LiYON, as a way to release what had been building up in his heart and soul.

Combining an electronic pop sound with meaningful experience, new single “Back It Up” showcases his signature ’90s vibe and a driving bass. “Back It Up” is about how frail dating and love can be in modern times; wanting to get close to someone but being weary at the same time.

Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds Release Eclectic Single

Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds are a new-age funk/blues/soul band hailing from St. Boniface, the old French quarter of Winnipeg. They cemented their identity as a bilingual act with their unique French and English double EP released in late 2017. As a result, the 8-piece collective earned nominations for 2018 WCMA “Francophone Artist of the Year” as well as “Group of the Year” and “Discovery of the Year” at the 2019 Gala Trille Or.

“Stuck in Quarantine” (feat. Cityreal & Roman Clarke) is about finding a way to have a romantic relationship during a lockdown. It’s the lead single from Cruel, their forthcoming debut LP which infuses fun-loving songs in a mixture of both English and French. Heartbroken by their inability to play live shows during the worldwide lockdown, Jérémie turned this grim situation into a hip-hop and pop collaboration with lush analog blues sounds.

Parks N’ Rec Reveal Epic New Single + Video for “A Little Cruel”

Parks N’ Rec is the new project from Canadian singer Marco DiFelice (Supergarage), songwriter, music supervisor (Orphan Black, Lost Girl), and producer. On top of running his own music studio out of Toronto, he released a solo EP titled The Sun that Somewhat Sets under the moniker Marco Solo in 2007. Now, DiFelice is collaborating with producers at Self Titled Studios to write songs against the backdrop of his own life in Parks N’ Rec, covering topics of lost love, polarizing societies, and self-renewal.

Lead single “A Little Cruel” was written on a farm in the Costa Rican jungle as DiFelice reacquainted himself with nature and purpose. It’s about how easily one can sweep pain under the rug, knowing it won’t work, while dealing with closure at the end of a relationship. DiFelice is completing his debut EP, Wish I Was Here, in South America seeking expressions of truth and beauty to facilitate an understanding and acceptance of a changing world.
